{"id":368896,"date":"2019-05-13T09:29:18","date_gmt":"2019-05-13T16:29:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=368896"},"modified":"2019-05-13T09:29:18","modified_gmt":"2019-05-13T16:29:18","slug":"jack-laugher-jennifer-abel-win-at-fina-diving-world-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/jack-laugher-jennifer-abel-win-at-fina-diving-world-series\/","title":{"rendered":"Jack Laugher, Jennifer Abel Win at FINA Diving World Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The penultimate leg of the 2019 FINA Diving World Series concluded on Sunday May 12 in Kazan, Russia, as Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Jack Laugher<\/strong> and China&#8217;s <strong>Yang Hao<\/strong> topped the men&#8217;s individual events and Canada&#8217;s <strong>Jennifer Abel<\/strong> and DPR Korea&#8217;s <strong>Kim Mi Rae<\/strong> triumphed in the women&#8217;s springboard and platform events.<\/p>\n<p>Laugher was the best in the 3m with 499.30 points, while Russia&#8217;s <strong>Evgenii Kuznetsov<\/strong> came second, accumulating 466.60 points and China&#8217;s <strong> Peng Jianfeng<\/strong> closed the podium with 464.95.<\/p>\n<p>Hao excelled in the platform event, grabbing a total of 537.05 points for gold, in front of Russia&#8217;s <strong>Aleksandr<\/strong> <strong>Bondar<\/strong> (522.60), who settled for silver and <strong>Thomas Daley<\/strong> (GBR) for bronze with 520.40 points.<\/p>\n<p>Yang was also the best in the synchro 10m event, together with partner <strong>Lian Junjie<\/strong>, as they clinched gold with 444.18, while Bondar also ranked second this time with <strong>Viktor Minibaev<\/strong> (403.02). <strong>Matthew Lee<\/strong> \/ <strong>Thomas Daley<\/strong> settled for bronze (395.82).<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s pair <strong>Oleg Kolodiy<\/strong> \/ <strong>Oleksandr Gorshkovozov<\/strong> pocketed the synchro 3m gold at stake with 403.26, while neighbors <strong>Nikita Shleikher<\/strong> \/ <strong>Evgenii Kuznetsov<\/strong> (RUS, 401.94) took silver and South Americans <strong>Juan Manuel Celaya Hernandez<\/strong> \/ <strong>Yahel Ernesto Castillo Huerta<\/strong> (MEX, 400.53) took bronze.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s competition, Abel surprised everyone by stealing the 3m crown with 330.60 points.
