Bick<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Japanese Olympian <\/span><b>Rikako Ikee <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/rikako-ikee-uses-new-website-to-thank-fans-document-treatment-for-leukemia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">started a website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to document her battle against leukemia. The website includes a letter of appreciation to her fans for the support they have offered during her treatment. Ikee shared her leukemia diagnosis <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/japanese-star-rikako-ikee-diagnosed-with-leukemia\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">back in February<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> following a medical emergency at a training camp in Australia. The diagnosis and the start of necessary treatment prevented Ikee from competing in Japan\u2019s qualifying meet for the 2019 World Championships in South Korea. According to a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rikako-ikee.jp\/fan.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">translated version of Ikee\u2019s letter<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the 18-year old\u2019s treatment has been \u201cgoing smoothly\u201d despite the long period of hospitalization that has been required to fight the disease. In the subsequent months since her diagnosis, Ikee has mainly been updating fans via her Twitter account and has said she has not given up on the possibility of competing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. This is Adrian\u2019s first return to competition since being <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympic-gold-medalist-nathan-adrian-announces-he-has-testicular-cancer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">diagnosed with testicular cancer<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> back in January. Adrian began treatment shortly thereafter and has been keeping fans updated via social media throughout the process. Adrian\u2019s most recent PET scans came back clean on April 22, although it was not clear when he would be returning to competition. Adrian is listed on the roster for the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/usa-swimming-finalizes-46-strong-roster-for-2019-world-cha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">World Championships<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> team this summer as well as the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/usa-swimming-sets-pan-american-games-roster-margo-geer-nathan-adrian-highlight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pan American Games<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/nathan-adrian-ready-for-racing-return-after-testicular-cancer-battle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">plans to make both trips<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The meet, hosted by Swimming New South Wales, is a 3-day competition about one month out from Australian World Championship Trials, giving Australia\u2019s best an opportunity to sharpen their racing habits before vying for a chance to represent their country in South Korea in July. <\/span><b>Cate Campbell <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was back in the pool before heading to training camp, winning the 50 (24.38) and 100 free (52.96). Other notable swims included <\/span><b>Kaylee McKeown <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the 200 back (2:07.10), <\/span><b>Yui Ohashi <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the 400 IM (4:36.54), <\/span><b>Rika Omoto <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the 200 IM (2:08.64). Japan\u2019s <\/span><b>Daiya Seto<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also recorded new personal bests in the 200 and 400 free and 100 fly. The Swedish world record holder won 5 individual events in Budapest, taking gold in the 50 free (23.97), 100 free (53.03), 200 free (1:56.58), 50 fly (25.32), and 100 fly (56.78). Hungarian <\/span><b>Katinka Hosszu <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also won three individual events on her home soil, including posting the top time in the world in the 200 fly (2:06.62) and strong time in the 200 IM (2:08.81) that was just off her own #1 ranked time in the world for 2019. Other world leaders from the meet included <\/span><b>Yulia Efimova <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the three breaststroke events, <\/span><b>Kristof Milak <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the 200 fly, and <\/span><b>Nicholas Santos <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the 50 fly.
