COLLEGE STATION, Texas, November 23. THE Art Adamson Invitational came to a close with the Stanford and Texas A&M women both putting up some monster times in the final session of the meet. <\/p>\n
Stanford’s Felicia Lee opened up the night with a victorious time of 1:53.36 in the women’s 200-yard backstroke. That’s Lee’s lifetime best, and her first time under 1:54. Previously, she boasted a 1:54.24 from the 2013 Pacific 12 Championships. Teammate Annemarie Thayer also beat 1:54 with a 1:53.99 for second place, while A&M’s Melanie McClure snatched third-place honors with a 1:55.46 as the top 12 swimmers all beat the NCAA B cut. <\/p>\n
TCU’s Cooper Robinson continued his strong meet as he clocked an NCAA B cut time of 1:42.50 to win the men’s 200-yard back. LSU’s Michael Young turned in a second-place time of 1:45.92 for a B cut of his own, while TCU’s Adam Szilagyi wound up third in 1:46.66. <\/p>\n
Olympian Lia Neal of Stanford brought some serious speed to the equation in the women’s 100-yard free as she scorched the finale with a winning 47.48. Meanwhile, her teammate Maddy Schaefer blitzed the finale with a second-place 47.75 as the two Cardinal beat the NCAA A cut. A&M’s Lili Ibanez Lopez took third in 48.28. <\/p>\n
Texas A&M’s Henrik Lindau led a trio of swimmers under the NCAA B cut in the men’s 100-yard free. Lindau won in 43.89, while Air Force’s Ryan Dunne touched second in 43.96. A&M’s Kyle Troskot picked up third with a time of 44.07. <\/p>\n
Aggie Breeja Larson crushed the field in the women’s 200-yard breaststroke with a smooth 2:07.60 to beat the NCAA A cut. Teammate Ashley McGregor placed second in 2:09.18, while Stanford’s Katie Olsen turned in a third-place time of 2:11.89. <\/p>\n
Air Force’s Michael Barnosky undercut the NCAA B cut in the men’s 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:59.49. LSU’s Ricardo Alvarado placed second in 2:00.74, while TCU’s Mitchell Adshead pocketed third with a time of 2:01.77. <\/p>\n
Texas A&M’s Cammile Adams blitzed the women’s 200-yard fly with a sizzling time of 1:52.72, while Stanford’s Maya DiRado captured second in 1:54.47 as the top two swimmers both cleared the NCAA A cut in the event. A&M’s Sammie Bosma picked up third in 1:57.65. <\/p>\n
LSU’s Frank Greeff bettered the NCAA B cut in the men’s 200-yard fly with a 1:44.72 for the win, while TCU’s Adam Szilagyi placed second in 1:48.06. TCU’s Luiz Azarias earned third in 1:48.15. <\/p>\n
Stanford’s Maddy Schaefer (48.16), Maya DiRado (48.75), Felicia Lee (48.46) and Lia Neal (47.64) posted a blistering time in the women’s 400-yard free relay with a sterling 3:13.01. A&M’s Lili Ibanez Lopez (48.42), Erica Dittmer (49.06), Meredith Oliver (48.56) and Sammie Bosma (48.64) finished second in 3:14.68 as both teams posted NCAA automatic qualifiers. <\/p>\n
Stanford’s B team of Julia Anderson (50.08), Julia Ama (49.32), Annemarie Thayer (49.25) and Nicole Stafford (49.82) wound up third overall in 3:18.47. <\/p>\n
A&M’s Henrik Lindau (43.94), Kyle Troskot (43.52), Luke Shaw (44.35) and Paul-Marc Schweitzer (43.47) took the men’s 400 free relay title in 2:55.28. LSU’s Alex Linge (44.75), Michael Saco (44.40), Marco Gonzalez (43.92) and Frank Greeff (44.18) took second in 2:57.25, while Air Force’s Ryan Dunne (44.19), George Frank (44.50), Angus MacDonald (45.20) and Micah Newmann (44.22) placed third in 2:58.11. <\/p>\n
In distance freestyle, A&M’s Sarah Henry topped the women’s 1650-yard free in 16:12.95 for an NCAA B cut, while teammate Colleen Konetzke took second in 16:37.94. A&M’s Sarah Gibson finished third in 16:44.18. Texas A&M’s Omar Enriquez claimed the men’s 1650-yard free in a B cut 15:14.92, while Air Force’s Kevin Jackson earned second with a B cut of 15:22.61. Air Force’s Andrew Faciszewski also beat the B cut with a third-place 15:27.39. <\/p>\n
In platform diving, LSU’s Cassie Weil won among the women with 270.00 points, while SMU’s Devin Burnett took the men’s crown with 393.55 points. <\/p>\n
