NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>James Madison has earned another verbal commitment for the 2020-21 season and beyond from Henrico, Va. native\u00a0Madison Cottrell<\/strong> who will join\u00a0Cameron Gring<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Dukes’ class of 2024.<\/p>\n

A versatile swimmer, Cottrell swims year-round with NOVA of Virginia Aquatics and owns the Winter Juniors standard in the 100 back. She recorded a trio of best times at NCSAs in March shortly after registering four top-12 finishes at Virginia Seniors. This past summer, she notched 100% lifetime bests at Virginia LCM Seniors where her highest finish was a pair of 17th-place showings in the 200m IM and 200m breast.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Mills E. Godwin High School, Cottrell is a six-time Virginia 5A State Championship finalist.\u00a0She took sixth in the 50 free and 11th in the 100 breast as a junior after placing ninth in both the 200 IM and 100 breast during her sophomore season.<\/p>\n
