\nHannah Moore finished third in the women\u2019s 10K at the U.S. Open Water National Championships, but was issued a red card\u2014an automatic disqualification\u2014on lap five of the six-lap course. However, two days later, she recharged mentally\u2014thinking about how much she loves the sport and how grateful she is just to be competing\u2014and proceeded to finish third overall in the 5K and claim the second American spot in the event to make her first World Championships team.<\/p>\n

\nAfter a successful women\u2019s NCAAs, Cal senior Amy Bilquist stunningly announced she would move back to Scottsdale, Ariz., leading up to the 2020 Olympic Trials, moving back to her old club team before she moved cross country to Carmel Swim Club before her junior year.<\/p>\n

017 DARA TORRES TO HOST 2019 ISHOF HONOREE CEREMONIES<\/strong><\/span>
\nThe International Swimming Hall of Fame announced that this year\u2019s Master of Ceremonies for the 2019 Induction Class of Honorees, to take place May 17-19, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is Dara Torres, a 12-time Olympic medalist and former world record holder. Not only was Torres the first swimmer to represent the United States in five Olympic Games, but she is the oldest swimmer (41) to earn a place on the team.<\/p>\n

018 USA SWIMMING ANNOUNCES COACHING STAFFS FOR SUMMER INTERNATIONAL MEETS<\/strong><\/span>
\nIn its last summer of international competition before the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, USA Swimming announced its coaching staffs for the 2019 FINA World Championships, World University Games and Pan American Games, appointing 22 of the country\u2019s top coaches to lead the three U.S. international teams.<\/p>\n

021 MAXIME ROONEY TO TRANSFER TO TEXAS<\/strong><\/span>

\nMaxime Rooney, an All-America swimmer at the University of Florida, decided to transfer to the University of Texas for his senior season.<\/p>\n

022 COLEY STICKELS NAMED NEW ALABAMA SWIMMING AND DIVING HEAD COACH<\/strong><\/span>
\nColey Stickels, the University of Indiana\u2019s associate head sprint coach the last two years, was hired as the University of Alabama\u2019s next head swimming and diving coach. He replaces Dennis Pursley, Alabama\u2019s head coach since 2012, who announced his retirement from coaching in April.<\/p>\n

034 STU WILSON NAMED HEAD SWIMMING AND DIVING COACH AT UNIVERSITY OF EVANSVILLE<\/strong><\/span>
\nStuart \u201cStu\u201d Wilson was named head men\u2019s and women\u2019s swimming and diving coach for the University of Evansville Purple Aces, to begin June 1. Wilson brings extensive collegiate and club experience to the Evansville program, most recently working as the senior coach at Nitro Swimming in Cedar Park, Texas.<\/p>\n

035 2020 USA OLYMPIC SWIMMING TRIALS TICKETS GO ON SALE JULY 1<\/strong><\/span>

\nTickets for the 2020 USA Olympic Swimming Trials, to be held June 21-28 in Omaha, Neb., will go on sale beginning July 1 for general public tickets. Ticket packages will follow in November, with daily and single-session tickets set to be on sale in February 2020.<\/p>\n

036 LILLY KING WINS THE 2019 HONDA SPORT AWARD FOR SWIMMING AND DIVING<\/span> <\/strong>

\nLilly King, who had another record-breaking year in her final collegiate season at Indiana, was presented the Honda Sport Award as the best female swimmer or diver for the 2019 college season. King will now go up against the 11 other NCAA sport award winners for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year award and the 2019 Honda Cup, to be presented June 24.<\/p>\n

038 SIOBHAN HAUGHEY: INSIDE HER 80-HOUR TRIP AROUND THE WORLD TO QUALIFY FOR OLYMPICS<\/strong><\/span>
