NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>James Madison University has received their first verbal commitment for the fall of 2020 from Reading, Penn. backstroker\u00a0Cameron Gring<\/strong>. Gring’s best 100 back time is already faster than the school record.<\/p>\n

Primarily a backstroker, Gring owns the U.S. Open cut in the 100 back with three additional Winter Juniors standards and does her club swimming with Reading YMCA. She most recently competed at YMCA Nationals where she took fifth in the 100 back and seventh in the 200 back. This past summer, she placed eighth in the 50m back and 12th in the 100m back at YMCA LCM Nationals.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Muhlenberg High School, Gring is a six-time Pennsylvania 3A State Championship finalist and has earned both NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors.\u00a0She was the 100 back runner-up and took ninth in the 200 IM as a junior after finishing first and sixth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.<\/p>\n
