She most recently competed Christiansburg Speedo Sectionals where she earned bronze in the 50 free after racing four events at Juniors East in December. This past summer, she recorded two best times at Middle Atlantic Seniors before going on to place 14th in the 50m free at Richmond Futures.<\/p>\n<p>Also competing for Governor Mifflin Senior High School, Steckiel is a six-time Pennsylvania 3A State Championship finalist and has earned both NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors.\u00a0She placed fourth in the 50 free and 15th in the 100 free as a junior after taking second and fifth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.<\/p>\n<p>She told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>\u201dI am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Auburn Univeristy!\u00a0 I am blessed to have such amazing coaches and teammates along the way challenge and support me. I know I will continue to be challenged by the strong academics and in the pool everyday by my future coaches and teammates.\u00a0 I thank God, my family and friends who have been my encouragement and support! War Eagle&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 free &#8211; 23.02<\/li>\n<li>100 free &#8211; 49.99<\/li>\n<li>200 free &#8211; 1:52.04<\/li>\n<li>100 fly &#8211; 57.30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When she arrives on campus at the start of the 2020-21 season, Steckiel will add valuable depth to their sprint freestyle groups.
