NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Wyoming has earned their first verbal commitment for the 2020-21 season and beyond from Edina, Minn. native and current high school junior\u00a0Andrew Columbus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Columbus does his club swimming with Edina Swim Club and most recently competed at NCSAs where he recorded a pair of lifetime bests. He won the mile and took second in the 500\/1000 free as well as the 200 fly and 400 IM at the Schroeder YMCA meet in February.\u00a0This past summer, he was the 1500m free runner-up with five additional top-5 finishes at the Minnesota LCM Senior Championships.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I\u2019m very humbled and proud to announce my verbal commitment to study, grow, and swim at the University of Wyoming! I\u2019d like to thank everyone who\u2019s helped me progress over the past 8 years. The coaching staff has built a culture like none other, and I hope our 2024 recruiting class matches the outstanding class of 2023. Can\u2019t wait to spend 4 years at 7220 feet! #GoPokes #OneWyoming”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
