In addition to Vazaios&#8217;s honors, the Wolfpack had 23 of its swimmers and divers honored as members of the Academic All-ACC Teams.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards were established in advance of the 2007-08 athletic season and recognize the top junior or senior student-athletes in their respective sports each year. Bick<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><\/p>\n<p>Vazaios, a psychology major from Athens, Greece, repeated as national champion in the 200-yard butterfly at the 2019 NCAA Championships and earned All-America honors in a total of five events at the national meet. His butterfly title came in record-setting fashion as he lowered his own ACC and program records in the event and swam the fourth-fastest time in NCAA history on the way to taking home gold. Vazaios also finished on the podium in three individual events and one relay at the 2019 ACC Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Academically, Vazaios owns a 3.792 cumulative GPA and is a two-time CSCAA Scholar All-American. In 2018, he was honored as a Google Cloud Academic All-American.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, 23 from NC State were named to the Academic All-ACC Team. Minimum academic requirements for selection to the Academic All-ACC Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative GPA during one&#8217;s academic career for undergraduate students.
