NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Canadaigua, N.Y. native Thomas Chapman\u00a0<\/strong>has announced his commitment to George Mason University as a member of the class of 2023.<\/p>\n

Chapman does his club swimming with Victor Swim Club under coaches Brett Leader<\/strong> and\u00a0Scott Wisner\u00a0<\/strong>and most recently won the 200 IM and 400 IM at Buffalo Speedo Sectionals. He<\/span>\u00a0qualified for and swam at the 2018 Winter Junior Nationals and he was a championship finalist in the 400 IM at Richmond Futures this past summer. Also swimming for Canandaigua Academy, he finished sixth in the 200 IM at the 2019 New York High School Federation Championships and was Section V Class B Outstanding Swimmer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI am very excited to announce my commitment to George Mason University. \u00a0GMU has the level of swimming and the high quality education that I wanted and Coach Ward and the team made me feel at home and part of something special. \u00a0I am looking forward to joining the team and starting my career as a Patriot.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
