NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Auburn University has gained a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2020 from Fairfax, Va. freestyler and backstroker\u00a0Peter Makin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Makin, who swims year-round with Nation’s Capital Swim Club, owns five Summer Juniors standards. He most recently competed at NCSAs where his highest finish was a 22nd-place showing in the 200 back after recording a best time in the 200 IM at the Potomac Valley Championships. This past summer, he raced five events at Junior Nationals and had a trio of top-12 finishes at Potomac Valley LCM Championships.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Fairfax High School, Makin is a six-time Virginia 6A State Championship finalist.\u00a0He was the 100 free runner-up and took fourth in the 200 free as a junior after placing third and fourth, respectively, in those events during his sophomore season. Makin has also earned both NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors.<\/p>\n
