She had more than a body-length lead at the 100 and increased it at the 150.<\/p>\n<p>She won in 2:09.74, which was short of the 2:06.82 worlds automatic qualifying time, but enough to earn the national championship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gemma Spofforth<\/strong> holds the British record in 2:06.66, set in 2009.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chloe Golding<\/strong> finished second in 2:10.53 and was the only one close to Fullalove after the 100 mark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kathryn Greenslade<\/strong> finished third in 2:12.27, holding off <strong>Honey Osrin<\/strong> (2:12.53) and <strong>Jennifer King<\/strong> (2:12.62).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aimee Willmott<\/strong> took sixth in 2:13.21, followed by<strong> Katie Shanahan<\/strong> (2:13.68) and<strong> Pia Murray<\/strong> (2:14.41).<\/p>\n<h2>Men\u2019s 100 Fly<\/h2>\n<p><strong>James Guy<\/strong> held off <strong>Duncan Scott<\/strong> in a head-to-head battle of two of Britain\u2019s best to open the men\u2019s finals session a the 2019 British Swimming Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Swimming the 100 fly, Guy hung on to win in 51.97, followed closely by Scott, who was just behind in 52.25. That time leaves Guy just outside the top 10 in the world this year.<\/p>\n<p>The automatic world standard time was 51.24. Both swimmers have qualified in different events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jacob Peters<\/strong> finished third in 52.47, followed by <strong>Lewis Fraser<\/strong> (53.04), <strong>Scott McLay<\/strong> (53.14), <strong>Matthew Domville<\/strong> (53.34) and <strong>Cameron Brooks-Clarke<\/strong> tied with <strong>Calum Jarvis<\/strong> for seventh at 53.74.<\/p>\n<h2>Women\u2019s 100 Free<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Freya Anderson<\/strong> held off a late charge from <strong>Anna Hopkin<\/strong> to win the 100 free at the touch.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson won the race in 53.79, a world consideration time. Hopkin finished just behind at 54.02, giving Anderson a race from start to finish. Anderson\u2019s time is just outside the top 10 in the world this year.<\/p>\n<p>The British record is 52.87, set by <strong>Francesca Halsall<\/strong> in 2009.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emily Crane<\/strong> finished third in 55.21, followed by <strong>Lucy Hope<\/strong> (55.44), <strong>Tain Bruce<\/strong> (56.17),<strong> Rachel-Louise Masson<\/strong> (56.21), <strong>Kathryn Greenslade<\/strong> (56.29) and<strong> Amy Grant<\/strong> (56.80).<\/p>\n<h2>Men\u2019s 200 breast<\/h2>\n<p>In another battle to the end, <strong>James Wilby<\/strong> outlasted <strong>Ross Murdoch<\/strong> in a close race all the way to the touch in the 200 breast.<\/p>\n<p>Wilby won the race in 2:07.49 qualifying for worlds, just 19 hundredths off of the British record set by Murdoch in 2014 (2:07.30).<\/p>\n<p>Murdoch closed strongly in the race and finished second in 2:07.96.<\/p>\n<p>Wilby\u2019s time is the third fastest in the world this year, while Murdoch\u2019s is fourth.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Anton Chupkov<\/strong>, 2:07.00<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ippei Watanabe<\/strong>, 2:07.02<\/li>\n<li><strong>Matthew Wilson<\/strong>, 2:07.16<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>James Wilby, 2:07.49<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Ross Murdoch, 2:07.96<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Yasuhiro Kosek<\/strong>i, 2:08.05<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Craig Benson<\/strong> was third in 2:10.13, followed by<strong> Adam Chillingworth<\/strong> (2:13.00),<strong> Kyle Booth<\/strong> (2:14.99), <strong>Edward Baxter<\/strong> (2:15.33), <strong>Gregory Butle<\/strong>r (2:15.35) and <strong>Matthew Rogers<\/strong> (2:19.53) to close the session at the 2019 British Swimming Championships.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2019 British Swimming Championships continues to impress with fast swimming from some of the top swimmers in the world.
