JAMES Madison’s women’s swimming and diving team wrapped up the two-day Colonial Athletic Association Pod Meet this morning with wins over William & Mary, UNC-Wilmington and Delaware. William & Mary topped UNC-Wilmington and Delaware on both the men’s and women’s side, while UNC-Wilmington and Delaware split their dual meets, with the UNC-Wilmington men and Delaware women coming out ahead. In all, there were nine individually scored dual meets at the four-team meet. <\/p>\n

The James Madison swimming and diving team won four more events on day two of the Colonial Athletic Association Pod Meet to complete a sweep of the four-team meet at Savage Natatorium, Saturday morning.<\/p>\n
JMU picked up wins over UNCW (248-105), Delaware (243-110) and William & Mary (223-124) to improve to 5-3 in dual meets this season and 3-0 in the CAA.<\/p>\n
After winning seven of 10 events on Friday, the Dukes picked up right where they left off on Saturday winning the 200-yard medley relay to open the morning. The Madison relay team of senior Shannon Dubay (South Windsor, Conn.\/South Windsor), juniors Sin Hye Won (Springfield, Va.\/West Springfield) and Susanne Gingher (Boalsburg, Pa.\/State College Area) and sophomore Kacy Edsall (Roanoke, Va.\/William Byrd) touched the wall at 1:45.51 to outrace the competition by over two seconds.<\/p>\n
Won added her second individual victory of the weekend by claiming first in the 200-yard breaststroke. She timed a 2:20.95 to narrowly edge UNCW’s Jenson Engen while sophomore teammate Amanda Presgraves (Leesburg, Va.\/Tuscarora) claimed fourth (2:20.90).<\/p>\n
Junior Aimee Hooper (Clifton Park, N.Y.\/Shenendehowa) also picked up her second individual victory of the weekend by winning the 500-yard freestyle. She cruised to a time of 5:02.24 to fuel a top-two finish by Madison as freshman Claire Adkins (Martinsville, Va.\/Carlisle) was right behind her at 5:07.99.<\/p>\n
The final win of the CAA Pod Meet for the Dukes came in the 400-yard freestyle relay. They used a team of Gingher, senior Kelsey Holmgaard (Roanoke, Va.\/George Mason) and sophomore Kristen Zielinski (Chesapeake, Va.\/Grassfield (Nova Southeastern)) and Carli Molano (Centreville, Va.\/Westfield) to win with a time of 3:28.74. William & Mary held a small lead heading into the anchor leg, but Gingher swam the final 100 in a time of 50.85 to power Madison to the win.<\/p>\n
Other top finishers on Saturday for JMU included Holmgaard placing second in the 100 freestyle, sophomores Stephanie Clarke (South Riding, Va.\/Freedom) and Edsall claiming sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 200 backstroke, junior Melissa Criscuolo (Point Pleasant, N.J.\/Point Pleasant) finishing third in the 100 butterfly and Won placing third in the 200-yard individual medley.<\/p>\n
