Tensions run high as athletes await their fate determining qualifications for a variety of importation international meets. Today&#8217;s lineup consisted of the women&#8217;s 1500 free, the men&#8217;s 50 breast, the women&#8217;s 50 breast,\u00a0 the men&#8217;s 50 back, the women&#8217;s 200 free, and the men&#8217;s 200 fly.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 1500 Free<\/h3>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s distance debut at the 2019 French Championship<strong> Lara Grangeon<\/strong> took home a gold medal with a time of 16:18.63. Following in second place was <strong>Aurelie Muller<\/strong> with a time of 16:32.90. Taking home bronze in the event was <strong>Adeline Furst<\/strong> touching the wall at 16:41.07. Nearly three seconds behind her was <strong>Lisa Pou<\/strong> with a time of 16:44.49. Fifth place went to <strong>Helvina Huet<\/strong> posting a time of 16:50.99. Sixth place went to <strong>Lou-Anne Barniet <\/strong>posting a time of 16:53.72.\u00a0 <strong>Nolwenn Nunes<\/strong> finished in seventh with a time of 16:56.70. Finishing in eighth place was <strong>Celia Heurtaux<\/strong> with a time of 17:14.52.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Breast<\/h3>\n<p>Taking home gold in the event was <strong>Theo Bussiere<\/strong> with a time of 27.62. Following in second was <strong>Clement Mignon<\/strong> with a time of 28.05. Earning a bronze medal was <strong>Thibaut Captain<\/strong> touching the wall at 28.28. Fourth place went to <strong>Wassim Elloumi<\/strong> with a time of 28.36. Right behind Elloumi by one hundredth of a second was <strong>Matthias Loth<\/strong> posting a time of 28.37. <strong>Melvin Swimsuit<\/strong> finished in sixth place with a time of 28.55. Seventh place went to <strong>Cyril Olier<\/strong> swimming a solid 28.78. Finishing up the top eight A heat was <strong>Mateo Girardet<\/strong> with a time of 28.82.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Breast<\/h3>\n<p>Your 2019 French Championship Gold Medal holder in the women&#8217;s 50 breast is <strong>Fanny Deberghes<\/strong> swimming a time of 31.54. Silver went to <strong>Solene Gallego<\/strong> with a time of 31.84. Finishing behind Gallego was <strong>Justine Delmas<\/strong> touching the wall at 32.38. Only one hundredths of a second separated fourth from fifth place. However, <strong>Carmella Kitching<\/strong> was able to touch the pad at <strong>32.43<\/strong> while <strong>Aureane Devaluez<\/strong> grabbed fifth place finishing in 32.44. Sixth place went to <strong>Meghan Frouin<\/strong> with a time of 32.61. <strong>Tiphaine Leblond<\/strong> finished in seventh with a time of 32.67, and in eight was <strong>Nolwenn Herve<\/strong> with a time of 32.93.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Back<\/h3>\n<p>Another sprint event of the night that featured some speedy swims was the men&#8217;s 50 back. <strong>Jermey Straus<\/strong> took home a championship title in the event with a time of 24.92. This puts Straus at the fourth fastest Fina time for the top 10 worldwide times in the event. Silver went to <strong>Stanislas Oil<\/strong> with a time of 25.33. Meanwhile, bronze went to <strong>Gabriel-Paul Bedel<\/strong> hitting the touch pad at 25.35. Fourth place went to <strong>Ladislas Salczer<\/strong> with a time of 25.49. Right behind him was <strong>Maxence Orange<\/strong> swimming a time of 25.62. Sixth place went to <strong>Yohann Brouard Ndoye<\/strong> with a time of 25.74. <strong>Pierre-Yves Despres<\/strong> finished in seventh with a time of 25.90, and in eighth place was <strong>Driss Lahrichi<\/strong> with a time of 26.04.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Free<\/h3>\n<p>The women in this mid distance event posted some very competitive times. Taking home a gold medal in the women&#8217;s 200 free at the 2019 French Championships is <strong>Charlotte Bonnet<\/strong> with a time of 1:56.57. This will put Bonnet in sixth place for overall fastest FINA times in the event worldwide. Silver went to <strong>Margaux Fabre<\/strong> with a time of 1:58.86. Taking home a bronze medal in the event was <strong>Joana Desbordes<\/strong> with a time of 1:59.43. Fourth place went to <strong>Assia Touati<\/strong> finishing at 1:59.97. Finishing in fifth place was <strong>Celia Pinsolle<\/strong> with a time of 2:01.33. <strong>Oceane Carnez<\/strong> finished in sixth with a time of 2:01.68. Seventh place went to <strong>Alizee Morel<\/strong> posting a time of 2:02.82. <strong>Orlane Hita<\/strong> wrapped up the top eight with a time of 2:03.10.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Fly<\/h3>\n<p>To end the session of Day three at the 2019 French Championships was the men&#8217;s 200 fly. Top finisher in the event was <strong>Jermey Desplanches<\/strong> with a time of 1:57.58. Earning a silver medal was<strong> Leon Marchand<\/strong> with a time of 1:58.60. Touching the wall in third place and earning a bronze medal at this years 2019 French Championships was <strong>Matthias Marsau<\/strong> posting a time of 1:59.20. Fourth place went to <strong>Arthur Cachot<\/strong> with a time of 2:01.60.<strong> Logan Fountain<\/strong> finished in fifth with a time of 2:02.08. Sixth place went to <strong>Clement Henry<\/strong> touching the wall at 2:02.31. <strong>Noyan Taylan<\/strong> grabbed seventh place with a time of 2:02.62, and in eight place was <strong>Thibault Mary<\/strong> with a time of 2:03.37.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Olivia McKelvey, Swimming World College Intern.
