MALIBU, California, October 27. THE Pepperdine women’s swimming and diving team wrapped up competition at the Malibu Invitational yesterday as sophomore Jessica Mosbaugh dominated the day with four individual wins.<\/p>\n

Day two of the Malibu Invitational was owned by sophomore Jessica Mosbaugh, who won four races yesterday and earned top-five honors in an additional three events. Overall the Pepperdine women’s swimming and diving team earned 21 total top-10 finishes in the middle distance and sprint events, to go along with the 16 top-10 finishes and three wins Friday in distance and diving.<\/p>\n
Mosbaugh (Los Alamitos, Calif.\/Los Alamitos HS), who won the 400 IM Friday, won the 50, 100 and 200 breaststroke yesterday, as well as the 50 backstroke. She has now won six races through two meets this season.<\/p>\n
Her 50 breaststroke time of 30.20 set a new personal record.<\/p>\n
While her signature event is the breaststroke, Mosbaugh enjoyed success in the 50 backstroke as well with her first-place time of 28.85.<\/p>\n
Mosbaugh also placed second in the 200 butterfly (2:10.44), fourth in the 50 butterfly (26.97) and fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:58.37).<\/p>\n
Kristine Pataray (West Jordan, Utah\/Copper Hills High School) also got in on the winning action, beating out 46 other swimmers in the 50 butterfly. The freshman clocked a 26.54, a little over a tenth of a second quicker than her closest competitor. In addition to Pataray and Mosbaugh, Nicolette Barreiro (Valencia, Calif.\/Hart HS) also placed in the top-10.<\/p>\n
Pataray would go on to finish runner-up in the 50 freestyle and fifth in the 100 freestyle.<\/p>\n
Emily Parks (San Antonio, Texas\/Communications Arts HS), yesterday’s winner in the 1,650 freestyle, earned two more podium finishes today. The freshman first placed third in the 200 backstroke (2:12.54), followed by another third-place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:01.29).<\/p>\n
Allison Naasz (Lodi, Calif.\/Tokay HS) collected three top-10 finishes yesterday. Her best result came in the 50 freestyle, where the sophomore lowered her career-best time to 25.17 to take fifth. Naasz placed eighth in the 200 free and the 100 backstroke.<\/p>\n
Kathrine Kuhlmann (Liberty, Mo.\/Liberty HS) was the Waves’ top finisher in both the 100 butterfly and the 200 IM. She placed seventh in each race, with times of 1:02.31 and 2:19.65, respectively.<\/p>\n
