NEW COMMITS:\u00a0<\/strong>NC State has earned a pair of in-state verbal commitments for the 2020-21 season from Cary’s\u00a0Michael Moore<\/strong> and Wilmington’s\u00a0Austin Winchester<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Moore and Winchester will join\u00a0Nick Lawson<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0James Plage<\/strong><\/a> and\u00a0Luke Miller<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as members of the Wolfpack’s class of 2024.<\/p>\n

Moore, who does his club swimming with Marlins of Raleigh, owns four Winter Junior standards and recently won the 400 IM at Greensboro Speedo Sectionals where he recorded five additional top-8 finishes. He achieved 100% best times at Juniors East in December and capped off his long course season by finishing eighth in the 200m back at Cary Futures this past summer.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Green Hope High School, Moore is a four-time North Carolina 4A State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American\u00a0finished fourth in the 200 IM and ninth in the 500 free as a junior after placing 13th and 11th, respectively, in those events during his sophomore season. Moore is no stranger to the Wolfpack family, as his older sisters\u00a0Hannah Moore<\/strong>\u00a0’18 competed for NC State and\u00a0Kate Moore\u00a0<\/strong>’21 is currently on the team.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am extremely honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue swimming and studying at North Carolina State University. The energy, dedication, and tradition of the team and coaching staff is like no other. I would like to thank all of my teammates throughout my years of swimming, my friends & family, and all the coaches who have pushed me to be my best. I’m excited to join my sisters Hannah and Kate, my former Marlins of Raleigh teammates, as well as some other truly amazing swimmers. GO PACK!!!!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
