World record holder <b>Katie Ledecky <\/b>and Olympic medalist <strong>Leah Smith<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2019-tyr-pro-swim-series-richmond-ledecky-moves-to-1-in-800-free-smith-posts-lifetime-best-on-night-one\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rattled the world rankings in the women\u2019s 800 Freestyle<\/a>\u00a0on night one while\u00a0U.S. Open record holder <b>Zane Grothe <\/b>took the men\u2019s race.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2019-tyr-pro-swim-series-richmond-psych-sheet-day-4-international-elite-2019-04-10.pdf\">PSYCH SHEET<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaswimming.org\/docs\/default-source\/eventsdocuments\/guides\/2019-tyr-pro-swim-series\/tyr-pro-swim-series-at-richmond\/thursday-prelims.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">THURSDAY PRELIMS HEAT SHEET<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/omegatiming.com\/Competition?id=0001130108ffffffffffffffffffffff&amp;day=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LIVE RESULTS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the first morning of preliminary races,\u00a014-year-old\u00a0<strong>Claire Curzan<\/strong>\u00a0of the TAC Titans earned two top-three seeds. After taking the third seed in the 50 Backstroke (28.58), she also took third in the 100 Butterfly in a lifetime best of 59.00. The swim is a new USA Swimming 13-14 National Age Group Record. She split 27.71\u201431.29 for the mark previously set by <strong>Kendyl Stewart<\/strong> (59.51) in 2009. Coming into the meet, Curzan&#8217;s best time of 59.82 ranked fifth all-time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kelsi Dahlia<\/strong> stayed consistent for the top seed in 58.03.
