KIRKSVILLE, Missouri, October 19. TRUMAN State bounced back from a rough meet against Illinois State last night with a split against Lindenwood this evening. The Bulldog women picked up a victory 149-113, while the Lions trounced the men 179-83. <\/p>\n
Casey Jepsen and Alison Strickler had strong outings for the Bulldogs as each clinched three titles tonight. Jepsen won the 100 free (53.27), 200 free (1:55.41) and leadoff the 400 free relay with a 53.68 as Jepsen, Strickler, Hannah Nicks and Evyn Spencer earned the win in 3:36.97. Strickler also walked away with wins in the 50 free (25.21) and anchored the 200 medley relay of Spencer, Margaux Kent and Beth Eyanson to a 1:50.05 with a 24.54. <\/p>\n
Abby Hempen doubled up as well. She won the 100 breast (1:06.60) and 200 breast (2:23.68), while Nicks followed up her 400 free relay win with a 1:00.00 in the 100 back for the triumph. <\/p>\n
A trio of swimmers doubled up for the Lindenwood women. Kyleigh Troxel snatched the 1000 free in 10:29.93, the doubled up with a 5:10.71 to win the 500 free. Hannah Vinyard also doubled. She touched in 2:09.78 to win the 200 fly, then swept the fly with a 59.76 in the 100. Alecia McGillivray rolled to a win in the 200 back with a 2:08.16, then posted a 4:35.94 to win the 400 IM. <\/p>\n
For the men, Lindenwood’s Ramunas Paknys, Gustavo Silva Santa, Alex Sajewski and Thomas Bernard won the 200 medley relay in 1:37.20. Paknys then crushed the 100 back with a 50.88. <\/p>\n
Silva Santa raced to a 1:55.11 to win the 200 fly, before doubling up with a 2:15.09 in the 200 breast. Felix Eigel claimed the 200 back title in 1:54.29, before turning in a double this evening with a 4:05.16 in the 400 IM. Sylwester Borowicz-Skoneczyny smashed the 1000 free field with a 9:32.43 for the win, then pulled off the distance double with a 4:38.32 in the 500 free. <\/p>\n
It was a balanced effort otherwise for Lindenwood with a few individual victories. Joey Martin took home the 200 free title in 1:48.27, while Ivars Akmentins turned in a 48.51 to top the 100 free. Carlos Cabral Xavier earned the 100 fly crown in 52.16. <\/p>\n
Igor Mijatovic, Cabral Xavier, Parker King and Akmentins then closed out the dual meet with a 3:14.68 to win the 400 free relay. <\/p>\n
