(Toronto, CAN)- Day three of the 2019 Canadian Swimming Trials are off with prelims at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre completed. Masse, who won the 100 back Wednesday, is the first seed going into tonight 200 finals. Alexander Elliot posted first seed times in both the Para 100 fly and the Para 400 free going into tonight’s finals.<\/p>\n

Sabrina<\/strong> Duchesne<\/strong> of UL opened today’s prelims session winning with a time of 40.29. In second was teammate Tess<\/strong> Routliffe<\/strong> in 40.42. Claiming third was NG’s Camille Berube<\/strong> in a time of 40.58. Fourth was Myria Soliman<\/strong> (49.99), fifth Clemence Pare<\/strong> (1:10.57), and sixth was Corriveau <\/strong>(1:21.62).<\/p>\n

Men’s Para 50 Fly<\/h2>\n

Claiming the lone title was Etienne Boutin-Cote\u00a0<\/strong>of CNQ in the time of 1:07.79.<\/p>\n

Taking first in the time of 1:11.27 was Samantha Ryan<\/strong> of NN, with Angela Marinaof<\/strong> of BRANT in second at 1:15.02 and Daniel Dorris<\/strong> from CNBO third in 1:19.45. Rounding out the stop eight were Justine Morrier<\/strong> (1:15.58), Morgan Bird<\/strong> (1:24.61), Ariann Hunsicker<\/strong> (1:24.30), seventh Miori Henault<\/strong> (1:29.59), and eighth Megan Sherwin<\/strong> (1:43.14).<\/p>\n

Men’s Para 100 Fly<\/h2>\n

Winning, and just short of breaking the one minute barrier, was Alexandar Ellitot\u00a0<\/strong>of UL in exactly 1:00.00. In second was Nicholas Bennet<\/strong> of RAC in 1:03.94 and third was Philip Vanchon<\/strong> of MEGO in 1:07.25. Also touching in the top were Nicolas Turbide<\/strong> (1:03.28) fourth, Nic Plamondon<\/strong> (1:14.10) fifth, Felix Cowan<\/strong> (1:16.44) sixth, Matthew Cabraja<\/strong> (1:19.95) seventh, and Aidan Elliot<\/strong> (1:15.52) eighth.<\/p>\n

Wednesday’s 100 back champion, Kylie Masse <\/strong>of TSC, touched first in the 200 back prelims with a time of 2:09.36. Close behind was Madison Broad<\/strong> of CYPS in 2:09.82, with Taylor Ruck<\/strong> in the running for the title at 2:10.48 for third. Fourth was Jade Hannah<\/strong> (2:11.48), fifth Mabel Zavaros<\/strong> (2:11.82), sixth Mackenzie Glover<\/strong> (2:12.29), seventh Olivia Ellard<\/strong> (2:!3.16), and eighth Ekaterina Avramova<\/strong> (2:14.07).<\/p>\n

Men’s 200 Back<\/h2>\n

Touching first, just breaking the two minute barrier, was Mark Thormeyer<\/strong> of UBCSC in 1:59.99. It was a close race for second with William Marois<\/strong> of CHENA touching in 2:00.59 and Robert Hill<\/strong> right behind in 2:00.66. Fourth would go to Javier Acevedo<\/strong> (2:00.74), fifth Cole Pratt<\/strong> (2:00.92), sixth Josh Zakala<\/strong> (2:01.86), seventh Anders Klein<\/strong> (2:02.69), and eighth Sebastian Somerset<\/strong> (2:02.78).<\/p>\n

Women’s 100 Fly<\/h2>\n

Swedish NCAA champion Louise Hannson<\/strong> of UNAT touched first in the time of 57.35, less than one second off the Canadian record. Rebecca Smith<\/strong> of SCAR hit second in 58.50, with Maggie MacNeil\u00a0<\/strong>of LAC close behind in 58.66. Rounding out the top eight were Haley Black (59.07) fourth, Penelope Oleksiak<\/strong> (59.31) fifth, Sarah Watson<\/strong> (59.56) sixth, Hanna Henderso<\/strong>n (59.58) seventh, and Danielle Hanus<\/strong> (59.69) eighth.<\/p>\n

Men’s 100 Fly<\/h2>\n

Hitting first, just missing the Canadian record time by .05, was Luis Martinez<\/strong> of GUA in 51.87. Batteling for second, Zheng Wen Quah<\/strong> of SGP would touch in 52.53 with Dylan Carter<\/strong> of UNAT third in 52.92. Fourth was Joshua Liendo<\/strong> (53.11), fifth Josiah Binnema<\/strong> (53.34), sixth William Pisani<\/strong> (53.51), seventh Alex Perreault<\/strong> (53.90), and eighth Mack Darragh<\/strong> (54.22).<\/p>\n

Hitting first respectively was Alyson Ackman<\/strong> of PCSC in 4:11.08. Kennedy Gross<\/strong> of GGST went 4:14.50 to out touch\u00a0Mackenzie Padington<\/strong> of UNVAR’s 4:14.54. In fourth was Danica Ludlow<\/strong> (4:15.21), fifth Emma O’Croinin<\/strong> (4:15.49), sixth Gabby DeLoof<\/strong> (4:19.00), seventh Emily Overholt<\/strong> (4:19.14), and eighth Katrina Bellio<\/strong> (4:19.71).<\/p>\n

Fourth was Andrea D’Arrigo<\/strong> (3:54.85), fifth Michael McGillivray<\/strong> (3:55.09), sixth Peter Brothers<\/strong> (3:56.15), seventh Nathan Beaudin-Bolduc<\/strong> (3:56.15), eighth Alexander Pratt<\/strong> (3:56.81).<\/p>\n

Winning from UL with a time of 4:54.84 was Aureli Rivard<\/strong>, and in second was Sabrina Duchesne\u00a0<\/strong>also of UL who came in first in the 50 fly prelims earlier, in a time of 5:39.96. Third was Ariann Hunsicker\u00a0<\/strong>of SKSC in the time of 5:14.00. Fourth was Morgan Bird<\/strong> (5:27.50), fifth Gabby Baird<\/strong> (5:32.53), sixth Krystal Shaw<\/strong> (6:17.77), seventh Michel Tovizi<\/strong> (7:00.53), and eighth Myria Soliman<\/strong> (7:06.59).<\/p>\n
