\nThis week\u2019s ZUMO Performance of the Week goes to <\/span>Dean Farris <\/b>for <\/span>his American and NCAA record in the 200 free<\/span><\/a> at the 2019 NCAA Men\u2019s Division I Swimming and Diving National Championships in Austin, Texas. <\/span><\/p>\n

It was hard to mention Men\u2019s Division I NCAA\u2019s last week and <\/span>not <\/span>hear about the junior from Harvard, and rightfully so. Farris had a breakthrough meet that started off with a huge statement swim as part of Harvard\u2019s 800 free relay. Swimming in the second heat in lane 5, Farris led off with a blistering 1:29.15 that broke <\/span>Townley Haas\u2019 <\/b>American and NCAA records. <\/span><\/p>\n

That bettered Farris’ <\/span>previous best of 1:30.83<\/span><\/a> from this year\u2019s Ivy Championships by almost two seconds and made him the third man to swim under 1:30 in the 200 free. <\/span><\/p>\n
