Cal’s\u00a0Andrew Seliskar\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Dave Durden\u00a0<\/strong>won the CSCAA Awards after the 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, Texas. The Cal Golden Bears won their first NCAA men’s team title since 2014 and Seliskar and Durden were honored as swimmer and coach of the year by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.<\/p>\n

Tennessee’s\u00a0Colin Zeng\u00a0<\/strong>was announced as the diver of the year after winning the 1m on Thursday. Matt Scoggin <\/strong>of Texas\u00a0<\/strong>was named the CSCAA Diving Coach of the Year.<\/p>\n

Seliskar won three NCAA titles in Austin with the 200 IM<\/a>, 200 free<\/a> and 200 breast<\/a>. Seliskar also anchored the Golden Bears’ 200 free relay<\/a> winning team from Thursday night. Seliskar moved to second all-time in the 200 IM, fourth all-time in the 200 free, and third all-time in the 200 breast. Seliskar won the award in a seemingly tight vote with Harvard junior\u00a0Dean Farris<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Coach of the Year<\/h2>\n

Cal head coach\u00a0Dave Durden\u00a0<\/strong>won the CSCAA Coach of the Year after coaching Cal to five NCAA titles this week in Austin. Cal won titles in the 200 free relay, 200 IM, 50 free<\/a>, 200 free and 200 breast.<\/p>\n

Diver of the Year<\/h2>\n

Tennessee’s\u00a0Colin Zeng\u00a0<\/strong>won the CSCAA Diver of the Year award after he won the 1m board<\/a>, was fourth in the 3m, and fifth in the platform board. Zeng was one of two divers to A-Final in all three boards.\u00a0Jordan Windle\u00a0<\/strong>of Texas was the other one to get in the A-Final in all three boards.<\/p>\n

Diving Coach of the Year<\/h2>\n

Texas diving coach\u00a0Matt Scoggin\u00a0<\/strong>won the CSCAA Diving Coach of the Year award for his efforts in coaching Jordan Windle,\u00a0Grayson Campbell<\/strong>, Jacob Cornish<\/strong>,\u00a0Reed Merritt<\/strong>. The Longhorns scored 84 total points in diving.<\/p>\n

THE RECAP<\/h2>\n

The Cal Golden Bears won the 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving title after three and a half days of action from Austin, Texas. The Golden Bears won their first team title since 2014, coincidentally that meet was in Austin as well. Cal now has four NCAA team titles this decade after winning titles in 2011, 2012, 2014 and now 2019.<\/p>\n

The Texas Longhorns placed second in their home pool after winning four straight team titles. The Longhorns have now finished in the top two six straight years.<\/p>\n

The Indiana Hoosiers finished third as a team, matching their finish from last year.<\/p>\n

NC State placed fourth as a team and have now placed that high four straight seasons.<\/p>\n

The Louisville Cardinals placed fifth, their highest finish in school history. Before this season, their highest finish was ninth in 2018 and 2012.<\/p>\n
