OAKVILLE, Canada, October 8. Canadian 100-meter free champion Bryce Kwiecien-Delaney of the Oakville Aquatic Club has committed to Michigan, as confirmed by his coach, Sean Baker, this morning.<\/p>\n
Aside from winning the 100 free last summer at the Canadian National Championships, Kwiecien-Delaney was also the National Age Group champion in the 100 free, winning in a time of 50.89, and lowered that mark in Dubai this summer at the FINA Junior World Championships to 50.71 leading out the Canadian men’s 400 free relay.<\/p>\n

The sprint freestyle specialist is powerful and has become well rounded swimming for Baker. He has shown great speed in both SCM and LCM, so one could expect that his transition to SCY should be fairly seamless. His long course best 100 free translates roughly into a 44.27, however, expect to see some fast short course swimming early this year from Kwiecien-Delaney, who’s long course time dropped by around a second last season to almost equal his short course best.<\/p>\n
Kwiecien-Delaney, who has been a major staple in the Oakville Aquatic Club’s National Age Group Breaking relays, will join OAK & Team Canada teammate Evan White in Michigan. The two of them join OAK teammates Marni Oldershaw and Sharalynn Missiuna into a competitive Michigan squad for the 2014-15 season.<\/p>\n
