HE might not be pulling in huge recruiting classes in terms of quantity, but Duke head coach Dan Colella certainly keeps bringing in NCAA qualifier quality with his classes.  Recently, Peak&#8217;s Leah Goldman made the call to Colella to earn early top-billing in the Blue Devils&#8217; Class of 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Goldman, the 32nd-ranked recruit in the Class of 2014 by CollegeSwimming.com, provides Duke with an immediate impact player in the butterfly and IM events.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Goldman clocked a 53.69 in the 100-yard fly and a 2:00.61 in the 200-yard IM at the CIF CCS High School Championships while swimming for Burlingame.   Goldman also will give Duke a few options on its medley relay.  Not only is she a strong sprint flyer, she also has a 26.30 50-yard backstroke leadoff to her credit.<\/p>\n<p>This past year, Goldman also competed alongside Garrett Weber-Gale at the Maccabiah Games.  She posted a 57.01 in the 100-meter free, a 26.46 in the 50-meter free, a 1:02.34 in the 100-metr fly and a 1:04.79 in the 100-meter back during her epic journey to Israel as part of the Jewish-centered celebratory competition.<\/p>\n<p>Goldman joins No. 40 Ryan Nicholson on the men&#8217;s side as the top-two recruits for Duke this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BURLINGAME, California, October 7.
