Indiana sophomore\u00a0Andrew Capobianco\u00a0<\/strong>won the 3m diving title<\/a> on Friday night at the 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, Texas with 461.65. Capobianco nailed his second dive of the competition for 100 total points. It was the first time he had ever hit 100 points on a dive before and he talked to\u00a0Swimming World\u00a0<\/em>about why he always puts that dive (his best dive) second in his lineup as opposed to putting it fifth or sixth.<\/p>\n

Capobianco was also the first man from Indiana to win the 3m board at NCAAs since 1981. He also talked about how much he fed off watching the Indiana swimmers do so well in the pool Friday night with\u00a0Vini Lanza\u00a0<\/strong>winning the 100 fly<\/a> and\u00a0Ian Finnerty\u00a0<\/strong>winning the 100 breast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Indiana now has ten 3m titles, but it is their first since 1981. Capobianco joins the likes of\u00a0Ken Sitzberger\u00a0<\/strong>(1965, 67),\u00a0Jim Henry\u00a0<\/strong>(1969, 70),\u00a0Brian Bungum\u00a0<\/strong>(1976, 77) and\u00a0Robert Bollinger\u00a0<\/strong>(1981) as winners of the event for the Hoosiers.<\/p>\n
