PHOENIX, Arizona, October 4. THE college season is just getting started, but it’s never too early to start predicting who’s going to win at the NCAA championships in March. One of the closest races of the men’s championships will be the 100 backstroke, and three guys are definitely in the hunt for the national title. According to voters in our poll, Cal freshman Ryan Murphy has the edge to win the title, with 53.24 percent of the vote. David Nolan, the reigning NCAA champion, came in second with 20.14 percent, while Texas freshman Jack Conger got 16.55 percent. There could certainly be another swimmer to take the title, and 10.07 percent of voters believe that could happen.<\/p>\n
The Golden Goggle awards are about seven weeks away, and we’re going to give you the chance to voice your opinion on who should get the coveted award in the eight categories.
