The men\u2019s 1650 and women\u2019s 1000 will be swum on Sunday as a timed final, with the fastest 8 entries swimming in finals. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Women\u2019s 1650 Free<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Colby Hurt <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of 757 Swim took the opening event of Christiansburg Sectionals, winning the women\u2019s mile in 16:29.70. Hurt, who has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/auburn-secures-verbal-from-757-swims-colby-hurt-for-2020\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">committed to swim for Auburn University as part of their class of 2024<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, was far and away the leader of this race, winning by more than 45 seconds and the only swimmer under 17:00 in the field. In second was 14-year-old <\/span><b>Kira Agne <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(17:15.14), while 14-year-old <\/span><b>Lauren Hertel <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rounded out the podium (17:27.87).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Men\u2019s 1000 Free<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NCAP\u2019s <\/span><b>Michael Jiang <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was the winner in the men\u2019s opening distance event, taking the 1000 free in 9:30.98. That was a best time for the 16-year-old by nearly 10 seconds, and gave him the win by almost 5 seconds over 18-year-old <\/span><b>Nicholas Lynam<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (9:35.35). In third was <\/span><b>Patrick Streyle <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(9:36.19).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Women\u2019s 800 Free Relay<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Delaware Swim Team relay of <\/span><b>Rabea Pfaff <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1:52.82), <\/span><b>Catherine Weaverling <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1:52.09), <\/span><b>Emma Menzer <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1:52.23), and <\/span><b>Isabella Paoletti <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1:51.04) touched first in 7:28.18, just a second ahead of the team from NCAP who was second in 7:29.57. Those two teams were well ahead of the rest of the field, with the relay from Eagle Swim Team grabbing third in 7:38.37. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Men\u2019s 800 Free Relay<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The team of <\/span><b>Preston Forst <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1:37.13), <\/span><b>Maxwell Edwards <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1:39.46), <\/span><b>Nathan Jao <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1:45.90), and <\/span><b>Thomas Hamlet <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1:40.97) from Enfinity Aquatic Club won the men\u2019s 800 free relay in 6:43.46. The team from NCAP was the only other team under 7:00 was NCAP (6:55.81).
