The Texas team of\u00a0<strong>Drew Kibler<\/strong>, <strong>Tate Jackson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Daniel Krueger <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Jake Samman<\/strong> qualified third in 1:15.53.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana, led off by\u00a0<strong>Zach Apple<\/strong> in 18.94, finished fourth in 1:15.60, and Alabama took fifth in 1:15.64.\u00a0<strong>Robert Howard\u00a0<\/strong>led off the Crimson Tide relay in 18.99, and <strong>Zane Waddell\u00a0<\/strong>anchored in 18.28. Haas swam head-to-head against Cal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sean Grieshop\u00a0<\/strong>one lane over in the final heat, overtaking the Cal sophomore on the last 50. Grieshop ended up recording the second-fastest qualifying time with a 4:11.13.<\/p>\n<p>The next three qualifiers all came out of the early heats. Arizona&#8217;s <strong>Brooks Fail\u00a0<\/strong>qualified third in 4:11.51, followed by Georgia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Walker Higgins\u00a0<\/strong>(4:12.57) and Texas A&amp;M&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mark Theall\u00a0<\/strong>(4:12.70). South Carolina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Fynn Minuth<\/strong> (4:12.74), Michigan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ricardo Vargas Jacobo\u00a0<\/strong>(4:13.15) and Harvard&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Brennan Novak\u00a0<\/strong>(4:13.72) also got into the final.<\/p>\n<p>It took a 4:14.47 to qualify for the consolation final, with Florida&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Khader Baqlah\u00a0<\/strong>finishing 16th.
