There are 50 different pictograms representing the 33 different sports of the Olympic Games.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pictograms were a visual style first started at the 1964 Olympic Games, which were also held in Tokyo and were the first Olympic Games to be held in Asia. The visual style emerged as a way to communicate to an international groups of athletes and fans, and have been incorporated into each subsequent edition of the Games. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can see a video explaining the origin of the pictograms and the concept of the pictograms below: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Concept Video:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/W5Vbqq3UQDo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<em><strong>Introduction Video:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/B7YMlcX-ttA\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the Organizing Committee, the 2020 pictograms are designed to not only communicate the sports they depict, but are designed to showcase the \u201cvibrant movement\u201d of each sport. The designer for the pictograms was <strong>Masaaki Hiromura<\/strong>, a graphic designer who resides in Tokyo.
