ZIONSVILLE, Indiana, October 1. ANOTHER top flight Indiana-based swimmer has decided to take her talents elsewhere as Zionsville’s Alex Cleveland has committed to Tennessee head coach Matt Kredich.<\/p>\n
Cleveland, who is the 46th-ranked swimmer in the Class of 2014 by CollegeSwimming.com, will compete for the Lady Volunteers after her senior season. The Big Orange is coming off a program-best third-place finish at NCAAs, and will certainly enjoy adding another strong sprinter to a program that dominated the relays in March.<\/p>\n
Cleveland, the second-ranked recruit in the State of Indiana, has a top time of 22.95 in the 50-yard free form the 2013 Indiana High School State Championships. She also blasted a 55.83 in the 100-yard back at the state championships as well.<\/p>\n
Most of her best times as a swimmer have been within the state, as she also clocked a 50.24 in the 100-yard free at the Indiana Senior Short Course Championships, and a 26.69 in the 50-meter free at the Indiana Early Bird Invitational. Her best time at a national event also happened at home at the IU Natatorium with a 50-meter back at the 2013 NCSA Summer Nationals.<\/p>\n
Tennessee has been in the thick of it with some of the top recruits in the nation this year, and is still being considered by some of the rest of the top performers still available. A third-place finish at NCAAs will definitely do that for a squad.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
