The session will include action in the aforementioned 1650, along with the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Top seeds for the finals include Florida&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bobby Finke\u00a0<\/strong>in the 1650, Texas&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Austin Katz<\/strong> in the 200 back, Harvard&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dean Farris\u00a0<\/strong>in the 100 free, Cal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrew Seliskar\u00a0<\/strong>in the 200 breast, NC State&#8217;s <strong>Andreas Vazaios\u00a0<\/strong>in the 200 fly and Cal in the 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ncaa-2019-saturday-finals-heat-sheet.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Heat sheets<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sidearmstats.com\/ncaa\/swimming\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Live results<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/watch\/_\/id\/3492298\/ncaa-mens-swimming-and-diving-championships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Live stream<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Highlights from Saturday morning prelims session:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3><strong>200 Back<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Texas duo of\u00a0<strong>Austin Katz\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>John Shebat\u00a0<\/strong>picked up the top two seeds in the men\u2019s 200 back, with defending champion Katz touching in 1:37.72 and Shebat taking second in 1:37.97. But Texas\u2019 outside hopes of catching Cal for the NCAA title took a hit when top seed\u00a0<strong>Ryan Harty\u00a0<\/strong>finished 10th in prelims in 1:39.53 and two Cal Bears qualified for the A-final, <strong>Daniel Carr<\/strong> and <strong>Bryce Mefford<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>100 Free<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Harvard\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Dean Farris\u00a0<\/strong>looks set to challenge for a second NCAA title after he qualified first by four tenths for the 100 free final. Farris put up a time of 41.00, well ahead of second seed\u00a0<strong>Bowe Becker\u00a0<\/strong>of Minnesota (41.44). Third went to Texas\u2019\u00a0<strong>Daniel Krueger\u00a0<\/strong>in 41.49, followed by Indiana\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Zach Apple\u00a0<\/strong>(41.59) and Alabama\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Robert Howard\u00a0<\/strong>(41.69).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>200 Breast<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Many of the principle figures in the 200 breast prelims swam in separate heats, but they will go head-to-head in the final. Cal\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Andrew Seliskar\u00a0<\/strong>will go for his third national title of the meet after qualifying first in prelims at 1:51.19. But just five hundredths behind was Indiana\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Ian Finnerty<\/strong>, who held off Seliskar on the last 50 to win last year\u2019s NCAA title.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>200 Fly<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>NC State\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Andreas Vazaios\u00a0<\/strong>was the only swimmer to break 1:40 in the 200 fly prelims, coming in at 1:39.54 to secure lane four for the final.
