The California foursome of\u00a0Izzy Ivey<\/strong>, Katie McLaughlin<\/strong>,\u00a0Amy Bilquist\u00a0<\/strong>and Abbey Weitzeil<\/strong> finished the NCAA championships on a strong note as they captured first in the 400 free relay while recording the fastest time in history. Afterwards, the four women broke down their effort in capturing three of five relays at the meet and Weitzeil explained how she bounced back from injuring her arm on the finish of the 200 medley relay Friday night.<\/p>\n

Weitzeil explained her injury and how she dealt with the pain throughout the day and battled through for the final events of the meet — including how she had to go last because she couldn’t climb out of the pool without. McLaughlin and Bilquist reflected on the emotions of swimming their final races for Cal, and Ivey explained why she looks up to the other three as her “cool aunts.”<\/p>\n
