The\u00a0event is now listed as &#8220;TBC&#8221; on FINA&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fina.org\/event\/fina-swimming-world-cup-2019\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">calendar of events<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.knzb.nl\/actueel\/nieuws\/bericht\/1000045086\/geen_fina_swimming_world_cup_in_eindhoven_in_2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">According to the Federation<\/a>, the competition was originally slated for September 27-29, 2019 in Eindhoven as a stop in the second World Cup cluster. After a full evaluation, the withdrawal came from financial concerns\u00a0as well as conflict with the upcoming FINA Champions Swim Series.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After a thorough evaluation with all parties involved, we have decided to return the organization of the World Cup competition to FINA,&#8221; says <strong>Andr\u00e9 Cats<\/strong>, technical director of the KNZB.<\/p>\n<p>The organization stated that they believe interest in the World Cups may be low with both meet series happening in the same year. Similarly, they think a short-course meters meet series within one year of the 2020 Olympic Games will not bring in many swimmers.<\/p>\n<p>Last year&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?s=eindhoven\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eindhoven event featured<\/a> numerous World, World Junior and National Records.\u00a0<b>Vlad Morozov<\/b>, who broke <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/vladimir-morozov-breaks-world-record-in-100-im-at-world-cup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">his own world record in the 100 IM, <\/a>led the way and is a frequent competitor in the World Cup Series. <strong>Kathleen Baker<\/strong> set <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-cup-eindhoven-day-2-finals-kathleen-baker-sarah-sjostrom-daiya-seto-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an American record in the 100 back<\/a> (55.91) while China\u2019s <b>Wang Jianjiahe <\/b>was another record-breaker from the meet, setting a new world junior record in the women\u2019s 400 free (3:54.63), breaking the old record by nearly 5 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, six World Cup stops still remain:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Tokyo, Japan\u00a0(August 2-4)<\/li>\n<li>Jinan, China (August 8-10)<\/li>\n<li>Singapore (August 15-17)<\/li>\n<li>TBC<\/li>\n<li>Budapest, Hungary (October 4-6)<\/li>\n<li>Kazan, Russia (November 1-3)<\/li>\n<li>Doha, Qatar (November 7-9)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Champions Swim Series will kick off about one month\u00a0after the Eindhoven withdrawal. Competition will begin in Guangzhou, China from April 27-29 before heading to Budapest, Hungary (May 11-12) and Indianapolis, USA (May 31-June 1).<\/p>\n<p>FINA has yet to comment on the Federation&#8217;s withdrawal from its hosting responsibilities.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>The KNZB contributed to this report.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The fourth stop of the 2019 FINA World Cup circuit may be relocated after the Dutch Swimming Federation (KNZB) pulled out of hosting the meet.
