The 2019 Speedo Sectional in Cary, North Carolina, continued on Saturday with a full slate of events.<\/p>\n

Regan Smith<\/strong> was a focal point, breaking the 17-18 national age group record in the 100 back at 49.74 during prelims.<\/p>\n

She is the third-fastest performer in history in short-course yards, seven hundredths from Beata Nelson<\/strong>\u2019s American record.<\/p>\n

The previous NAG record was held by Amy Bilquist<\/strong> at 50.50.<\/p>\n

In Saturday\u2019s finals, Smith was very near her record pace and finished in 49.77.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Claire Curzan<\/strong> was just a hundredth of a second off the NAG in the 50 free.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 Fly<\/h2>\n

Tac Titan\u2019s Charlotte Hook<\/strong> won the 200 butterfly in a sectional meet record 1:53.70 to win the event by nearly six seconds.
\nSouth Carolina\u2019s Elysse Pardus<\/strong> was second 91:59.22) and Winter Craig<\/strong> of Riptide was third (2:00.32).<\/p>\n
