Collazo also represents the Puerto Rican Swimming Federation.<\/p>\n<p>Torres does his club swimming with Trinity Prep Aquatics and owns a pair of Summer Juniors cuts with the U.S. Open standard in the 100m free. He most recently competed at the Southern Premier Invitational where he earned a pair of lifetime bests after placing 12th in the 100 free at Juniors East.\u00a0Also competing for Trinity Prep, Collazo is a six-time Florida 1A State Championship finalist. He \u00a0placed second in the 50 free and third in the 100 free as a senior after finishing second in both of events during his junior season.<\/p>\n<p>He told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #d60909;\"><strong>&#8220;I am so happy and grateful\u00a0that I could commit to my dream college, it was a lot of work but it certainly\u00a0paid off. I didn&#8217;t make it by myself obviously. I had so many people that helped and guided me along the way. Among those people, I would like to thank my coach Rocco Aceto, and my loving mom. First off, without Rocco, I wouldn&#8217;t even be close to where I am today in my swimming and I would not have been so lucky to have been able to go to my top university. Also, I can&#8217;t thank my amazing mother enough for raising me and caring for me, she is the best mom I could&#8217;ve ever asked for and I wouldn&#8217;t be here if it wasn&#8217;t for her.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>His best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 free \u2013 20.38<\/li>\n<li>100 free \u2013 44.75<\/li>\n<li>200 free \u2013 1:41.16<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When he suits up for the Trojans as a member of the class of 2023, he&#8217;ll add his sprint talents to a group that&#8217;ll include\u00a0<strong>Alexei Sancov<\/strong>, <strong>Thomas Finello<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Nikola Miljeni<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Joao Ama<\/strong>, <strong>Mario Koenigsperger<\/strong> and <strong>Thomas Reed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW COMMIT:\u00a0The University of Southern California has gained a new commitment for the 2019-20 season from Ovideo, Fla. sprinter\u00a0Jan Collazo.
