Wang swam a 15:46.69 as she moved up to sixth all-time in the event as she also sits second in the world rankings behind world record holder\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky\u00a0<\/strong>(15:45.59).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anton Ipsen\u00a0<\/strong>held off a strong finish from American\u00a0<strong>Jordan Wilimovsky\u00a0<\/strong>as they both swam 15:05&#8217;s to lead the men&#8217;s 1500 timed final.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2019-tyr-pro-swim-series-des-moines-psych-sheet-usa-senior-national-2019-03-06.pdf\">Psych Sheets<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaswimming.org\/\">Live Stream<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swmeets.com\/Realtime\/Pro%20Series\/2019\/Des%20Moines\/\">Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 1500<\/h3>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Wang Jianjiahe\u00a0<\/strong>got the TYR Pro Swim Series in Des Moines off to a really good start as she swam a 15:46.69 in the 1500 free on Wednesday night. That swim was only a second behind\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>15:45.59 from January&#8217;s TYR Pro Swim Series in Knoxville as Wang is now second in the world rankings for 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Wang was the Asian Games gold medalist in the 1500 in 2018 and she lowered the Asian Record tonight with her swim. Wang took down fellow Chinese swimmer\u00a0<strong>Li Bingjie&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>record of 15:52.87 from September 2017. Wang is now sixth all-time in the 1500 as she moves ahead of Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Boglarka Kapas\u00a0<\/strong>(15:47.09) on the all-time list.<\/p>\n<p>Wang was well in front of the rest of the field as Chile&#8217;s <strong>Kristel Kobrich\u00a0<\/strong>(16:17.92) finished in second and China&#8217;s Li (16:19.71) was third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Becca Mann\u00a0<\/strong>(16:33.24),\u00a0<strong>Emma O&#8217;Croinin\u00a0<\/strong>(16:47.69),\u00a0<strong>Katy Campbell\u00a0<\/strong>(17:02.64),\u00a0<strong>Nicole Oliva\u00a0<\/strong>(17:11.58) Elite&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anton Ipsen\u00a0<\/strong>got off to a fast start in the men&#8217;s 1500 as he had some distance between himself and American veterans\u00a0<strong>Jordan Wilimovsky\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Zane Grothe<\/strong>. Wilimovsky made a run at Ipsen over the last 500 but it was not enough as Ipsen won with a 15:05.39. Wilimovsky came in second at 15:05.44 as both guys came home in 27s on the last 50.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cI\u2019m very happy with the swim and how I felt,\u201d Ipsen said about the victory. \u201cI\u2019m super stoked about the competition here this week. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">It was really cool to swim with the likes of Zane Grothe and Jordan Wilimovsky, who in some way are idols to me each in their own respect. I\u2019m really happy to race against them and get some great race experience this week.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Grothe was back in third at 15:13.29. Those three now have the top three times in the world this year as Ipsen improved on his 15:16 from the TYR Pro Swim Series in Knoxville.<\/p>\n<p>Mission Viejo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>David Heron\u00a0<\/strong>placed fourth here with a 15:19.74 as he moves into fourth in the world rankings as we are still early in the calendar year. The top four here all moved in front of Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Albert Escrits Manosa\u00a0<\/strong>(15:23.89) as he is now fifth in the world this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Akaram Mahmoud\u00a0<\/strong>(15:31.28),\u00a0<strong>Gordon Mason\u00a0<\/strong>(15:49.67),\u00a0<strong>Noah Brune\u00a0<\/strong>(15:50.32) and\u00a0<strong>Alexandru Ispas\u00a0<\/strong>(15:55.12)
