That time should get her invited to the NCAA meet, even if she doesn&#8217;t improve tonight.<\/p>\n<p>The Texas men aren&#8217;t too close to any records heading into tonight but they reminded everyone in attendance just how dominant they are by filling all eight lanes in tonight&#8217;s 200 free A final, just as we saw yesterday in the men&#8217;s 500 free. Leading that charge is freshman stud <strong>Drew Kibler<\/strong> who put together a 1:34.54 to earn the middle lane tonight.<\/p>\n<p>The most impressive swim of the morning came from Kansas Jayhawk <strong>Jenny Nusbaum<\/strong> who earned the rights to lane four in the 200 free A final by virtue of her 1:47.31 prelim time. Just behind her is Texas veteran<strong> Quinn Carrozza<\/strong> who posted a 1:47.39 this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s events included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 400 IM<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 200 Free<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 200 Free<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 100 Back<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 100 Back<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Check below for an event-by-event recap of this morning&#8217;s races.<\/p>\n<p>For full results, click <a href=\"http:\/\/sidearmstats.com\/texas\/swim\/index.htm?DB_OEM_ID=10410\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p>The Lady Longhorns secured the top two spots heading into tonight&#8217;s A final with <strong>Emily<\/strong> <strong>Reese<\/strong> (53.53) and <strong>Lauren Case<\/strong> (53.84) getting the job done.<\/p>\n<p>WVU put <strong>Morgan Bullock<\/strong> in the A final mix with her morning time of 53.86. Just behind Bullock is <strong>Micaela Roemer<\/strong>, a 50 free A finalist from last night, with her time of 53.97 from the heats.<\/p>\n<p>Iowa State has <strong>Elynn Tan<\/strong>, who placed fifth in last night&#8217;s 50 free, representing the Cyclones with her swift 54.24.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the B final will be Kansas freshman <strong>Kaitlyn Witt<\/strong> who put together a 55.12. Rounding out that heat will be Iowa State&#8217;s Grace Synder (56.85).<\/p>\n<p>Lane four of the C final belongs to TCU&#8217;s Sarah Malloy who touched in 57.17.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p>The Longhorns posted the top three times from the morning with <strong>Jacob Huerta<\/strong> (46.64), <strong>Max Holter<\/strong> (46.67) and <strong>Andrew Koustik<\/strong> (47.26).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Denys Kostromi<\/strong> out of WVU will lead the Mountaineers in the B final with his 49.22 from the morning. Rounding out that heat will be TCU&#8217;s <strong>PJ Stapleton<\/strong> (51.37).<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, top-seed Tate Jackson ended up scratching the event and will not be in the finals heats.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Evie Pfeifer<\/strong> set her self up for an astounding A final swim tonight by posting the only sub-4:10 swim of the morning with her 4:09.99.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nora McCullagh<\/strong> is well behind in 4:17.18 while her teammate <strong>Maxine Wolters<\/strong> is in third position with her 4:18.40.<\/p>\n<p>Taking lane eight in that A final will be <strong>Kaeleigh Rice<\/strong> from TCU with her 4:23.13.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the B final tonight is Iowa State&#8217;s <strong>Lucia Rizzo<\/strong> (4:23.96) while her teammate <strong>Jazlyn Horras<\/strong> (4:46.84) rounds out that final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p>Texas Longhorn <strong>Colter Carman<\/strong> is sitting first in the A final with his 3:46.37 while his teammates <strong>JT Larson<\/strong> (3:47.38) and <strong>Braden Vines<\/strong> (3:47.71) are positioned right behind in second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Taking the eighth spot in the A final will be Longhorn distance-man <strong>Chris Yeager<\/strong> with his 4:01.84.<\/p>\n<p>TCU&#8217;s <strong>Kevin Chao<\/strong> leads the Horned Frogs into the B final battle with his 4:03.28.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Free<\/h3>\n<p>Kansas Jayhawk <strong>Jenny Nusbaum<\/strong> will lead the charge in the A final with her impressive 1:47.31 from the morning heats. Longhorn <strong>Quinn Carrozza<\/strong> (1:47.39) is sitting second with her teammate <strong>Joanna Evans<\/strong> (1:48.35) sitting third.<\/p>\n<p>Kansas freshman <strong>Claire Campbell<\/strong> touched in 1:49.62 to earn her way into the eighth spot of the A final.<\/p>\n<p>TCU&#8217;s <strong>Nicqueline Retta<\/strong> is currently seeded first going into the B final with her time of 1:50.01. Kansas junior <strong>Crissie Blomquist<\/strong> is 16th right now with a 1:51.08.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the C final will be Iowa State&#8217;s <strong>Keely Soellner<\/strong> who is just .01 Blomquist in 1:51.09.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Free<\/h3>\n<p>Texas filled all eight lanes in the A final with Drew Kibler leading the charge with his 1:34.54.<\/p>\n<p>Townley Haas took the second position with his 1:34.57 while Matthew Willenbe took the third spot with his 1:34.80.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the A final, barring any scratches, will be <strong>Parker Neri<\/strong> (1:36.61).<\/p>\n<p>The B final is led by TCU&#8217;s <strong>Joao Andrade<\/strong> who posted a 1:38.24.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n<p>Longhorn <strong>Kennedy Lohman<\/strong> (1:01.03) and Jayhawk <strong>Haley Downey<\/strong> (1:01.31) will battle it out in tonight&#8217;s A final with WVU&#8217;s <strong>Emma Harris<\/strong> is sitting third with her 1:01.66.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brooke Hansen<\/strong> out of Texas will round out the A final with her prelim time of a 1:02.44.<\/p>\n<p>Iowa State&#8217;s <strong>Martha Haas<\/strong> just missed the A final this morning by .06 with her time of 1:02.50. Jayhawk <strong>Ellie Flanagan<\/strong> took the 16th spot in the B final with her 1:07.29.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Charlie Scheinfeld<\/strong> will take lane four in the A final by posting a 53.04.\u00a0Scheinfeld got ahead of three WVU swimmers <strong>Tristen Disibio<\/strong> (53.38), <strong>Jake Armstrong<\/strong> (53.82) and <strong>Fausto Huerta<\/strong> (54.87) on his way to earning the top spot.<\/p>\n<p>TCU&#8217;s <strong>Charles Bennett<\/strong> snuck into the A final with his 55.60, putting him eighth.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the B final is TCU&#8217;s <strong>Jackson Boersma<\/strong> who put together a 55.78.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Back<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Claire Adams<\/strong> posted a 51.97 to earn the top spot ahead of her teammates <strong>Julia Cook<\/strong> (52.38) and <strong>Grace Ariola<\/strong> (53.76).<\/p>\n<p>Kansas teammates <strong>Manon Manning<\/strong> (54.12) and <strong>Elizabeth Amato<\/strong> (54.44) earned the fourth and fifth spots.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Back<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ryan Harty<\/strong> will lead the Longhorns into the A final with his 45.85 from the morning, putting him within striking distance of the meet record of 45.41.<\/p>\n<p>John Shebat is seeded second with his 46.15 while his teammate Austin Katz is sitting third with his 46.20.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the B final is <strong>Merwane Elmerini\u00a0<\/strong>(49.31).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The third day of the 2019 Big 12 Championships got underway this morning, showing us a few swims that could put conference records in danger tonight.
