Day three of four of the 2019 Men’s Ivy League Championships featured the men’s 400 individual medley, the men’s 100 fly, the men’s 200 free, the men’s 100 breast, the men’s 100 back, the men’s 3-meter diving and the men’s 400 medley relay.<\/p>\n

Harvard’s Dean Farris went the third fastest time in history in the 200 Free.<\/p>\n

After the third day of competition at the 2019 Men’s Ivy League Championships team scores are as followed:<\/p>\n

Men’s 400 Individual Medley<\/h3>\n
University of Pennsylvania senior\u00a0Mark Andrew<\/strong> won the men’s 400 IM with a time of 3:41.00, dropping seven seconds from his prelim swim this morning and earning himself the new Ivy League meet record. Second place went to Princeton’s Raunak Khosla<\/strong> swimming a time of 3:42.34. It was a tight race between third, fourth and fifth place. However, Penn’s Thomas Dillinger<\/strong> touched the wall at 3:44.15, just out-touching Harvard’s Michael Zarian<\/strong> (3:44.33). Following just behind Zarian in fifth place was his fellow teammate Jacob Johnson<\/strong> finishing with a time of 3:44.99. Sixth place went to Columbia’s Shane Brent<\/strong> with a time of 3:47.76. Brown scored some points for seventh place in the final with swimmer Alex Park<\/strong> posting a time of 3:52.89. The final swimmer to place within the top eight was Columbia’s Joseph Licht<\/strong> with a time of 3:52.91<\/p>\n

Another gold goes to Harvard as they take home the title for men’s 100 fly with freshman Umit Gures<\/strong>. Gures swam a time of 45.58, dropping almost a second from his prelims swim. Second place went to Columbia’s Jonas Kistorp<\/strong> with a time of 46.26. Only five hundredths of a second separated third and fourth place. Yet, Princeton’s Cole Buese<\/strong> powered through out the finish swimming a time of 46.71 with Penn’s Sean Lee<\/strong> right behind him in fourth with a time of 46.76. Fifth place went to Harvard’s Raphael Marcoux<\/strong> with a time of 46.80. Finishing in sixth from Columbia was Albert Gwo<\/strong> with a time of 46.85. Seventh place went to Cornell’s Jack Mahoney<\/strong> who put up a 47.11. Finally, wrapping up the A heat in eighth place was Princeton’s Derek Cox<\/strong> finishing at 47.51.<\/p>\n

Men’s 200 Free<\/h3>\n
Harvard strikes yet again. Junior Dean Farris<\/strong> took home gold for the Crimson in the event with a time of 1:30.83. Farris was not only way ahead of the pack, but also garnished a new Ivy League record in the men’s 200 free finishing in a time of 1:30.83. It is the third fastest time in history. Following behind by nearly four seconds was Yale’s Adrian Lin<\/strong> swimming a time of 1:34.56. Third, fourth, fifth and sixth place finishers all swam 1:35’s, just milliseconds separating them. Third place went to Columbia’s Nianguo Liu<\/strong> who swam a time of 1:35.20. Princeton’s Murphy McQuet<\/strong> finished in fourth with a time of 1:35.49. Right behind McQuet was Yale’s Henry Gasissert<\/strong> finishing in fifth with a time of 1:35.71. Sixth place went to Harvard’s Mahlon Reihman<\/strong> with a time of 1:35.79. Meanwhile seventh place went to Brown’s Michael Lincoln<\/strong> with a time of 1:36.17, and eighth place to Harvard’s Corban Rawls<\/strong> who touched the wall at 1:37.06.<\/p>\n

Men’s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n
Your 2019 Men’s Ivy League 100 breast champion is junior swimmer from Princeton Derek Cox<\/strong> swimming a time of 53.30. Touching just behind him in second was Princeton’s Dainel Arris<\/strong> with a time of 53.64. The Yang brothers from Penn took third and fourth in the event. Boris Yang<\/strong> touched the wall at 53.88 earning Penn a bronze medal in the event, while brother Daniel Yang<\/strong> took fourth in a time of 54.17. Fifth place went to Yale’s Dorje Wu<\/strong> finishing in a time of 54.20. Penn scored 24 more points in the event with Alec Hsing<\/strong> finishing in sixth with a time of 54.55. Seventh place went to Brown’s Maximillian Pokutta<\/strong> posting a time of 54.83. Last but not least, Yale’s Sam Pekarek<\/strong> fished in eighth to wrap up the A final with a time of 54.85.<\/p>\n

Men’s 100 Back<\/h3>\n
D. Farris<\/strong> is on fire as he takes home his second gold medal of the night in the men’s 100 back. The Harvard junior finished nearly two seconds ahead of second place in a time of 45.48. Brown’s Colely Sullivan<\/strong> took home a silver medal in the event with a time of 47.61. It was a battle for third place as Cornell’s Dylan Curtis<\/strong> split a solid 22.75 in his first 50 of the event. However, Brown’s Joon Sung<\/strong> was was able to out touch him at the end of the race earning him a bronze medal with a time of 47.64. Curtis was only a hundredth of a second behind him finishing in fourth with a time of 47.65. Fifth place went to Harvard’s Daniel Tran<\/strong> finishing with a time of 47.70. Princeton’s Cole Buese<\/strong> finaled in his second event of the night earning him sixth place in the men’s 100 back with a time of 47.83. Tyler Harmon<\/strong> from Yale finished in seventh with a time of 48.07, and in eight place was Penn’s Mark Blinstrub<\/strong> touching the wall at 48.14.<\/p>\n
