This evening kicked off the first full finals session of the 2019\u00a0National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Championships.<\/p>\n

After winning the 800 free relay last night, the Keiser men continued their momentum into this session with two more relay wins.<\/p>\n

Two women went under five tonight in the 500, while the 20 mark was broken in the men’s 50 free. Keiser remains in the lead after today.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 200 Freestyle Relay<\/h3>\n

    Kicking off tonight’s finals session was a Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) win in the women’s 200 free relay. The team of Spencer Sheridan<\/strong>, Kaylen Hou<\/strong>, Anna McGinty<\/strong> and Sara Lacusky<\/strong> got to the wall first with a time of 1:35.78.<\/p>\n

    Touching second was the Olivet Nazarene University team of Andrea Vega<\/strong>, Helina Reyes<\/strong>, Jordan Enders<\/strong> and Leanne Latocha<\/strong>. The women teamed up to swim a 1:36.09.<\/p>\n

    Close behind them were the Keiser University women. The team of Emma Augustsson<\/strong>, Kamryn Gallowich<\/strong>, Annamaria Zombai<\/strong> and Stefanie Sofouli<\/strong> finished third (1:36.54).<\/p>\n

    Men’s 200 Freestyle Relay<\/h3>\n

    Just like the 800, the Keiser men got to the wall first in the 200 freestyle relay. The team of Lasse Jorgensen<\/strong>, Matias Lazzerini<\/strong>, Konstantin Byshnev<\/strong> and Andrei Stukov <\/strong>won\u00a0with a time of 1:20.97.<\/p>\n

    Behind them were the SCAD men. The team of\u00a0Miles Kredich<\/strong>, Gergo Zachar<\/strong>, George Harsanyi<\/strong> and Irvin Hoost\u00a0<\/strong>touched second (1:21.58). In third with a time of 1:23.79 was the Loyola New Orleans team of Warren Massimini<\/strong>, Jack Jackson<\/strong>, Chett Bell<\/strong> and Streett Martin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 500 Freestyle<\/h3>\n
    Breaking the five minute mark this evening was both sophomore\u00a0Mendy De Rooi<\/strong> of the University of the Cumberlands and sophomore\u00a0Karla Islas<\/strong> of Olivete Nazarne. De Rooi finished first with a time of 4:58.82 with Islas finishing second (4:59.32).<\/p>\n
    In third with a time of 5:04.94 was SCAD senior\u00a0Sarah Dostie<\/strong>. Following in fourth was her teammate, sophomore\u00a0April O’Gorman<\/strong>, with a time of 5:05.86.<\/p>\n
    Keeping up the SCAD momentum was senior\u00a0Shayna Slazman<\/strong> finishing fifth (5:06.92) and freshman\u00a0Abigail Tankersely<\/strong> finishing sixth (5:07.24).<\/p>\n
    In seventh with a time of 5:09.39 was sophomore\u00a0Hope\u00a0Clark <\/strong>of\u00a0Asbury University. Junior\u00a0Paige Carter <\/strong>of Loyola took eighth (5:10.28).<\/p>\n

    Cruising to first was freshman Pol Roch<\/strong> of Keiser with a time of 4:26.30. Closest to him was sophomore Niels Engeln<\/strong> of\u00a0Lindenwood University of Belleville finishing second (4:31.33).<\/p>\n
    In third, with a time of 4:34.23, was junior Manual Languana<\/strong> Gomez<\/strong> of\u00a0West Virginia University Institute of Technology. Junior\u00a0Xavier Bordes Adell<\/strong> of Olivet Nazarene got to the wall fourth (4:34.46).<\/p>\n
    Giving both Gomez and Adell a race for third and fourth was freshman\u00a0Spence Clark<\/strong> of SCAD, finishing fifth with a time of 4:34.55.<\/p>\n
    In sixth was Cumberlands freshman John Morgan Mcdonald<\/strong> finishing at a 4:37.19. Seventh went to\u00a0Nathan Kuszynski<\/strong> of\u00a0St. Ambrose. Junior\u00a0Seth Cripe<\/strong> of Olivet finished eighth (4:38.90).<\/p>\n

    Women’s 200 IM<\/h3>\n
    It was senior Andrea Vega<\/strong> of Olivet Nazarene that would win the women’s 200 IM this evening. Vega finished first with a time of 2:05.06. In second, with a time of 2:06.76, was Cumberlands senior Christina Klouda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
    Junior Jessica Mcdonald<\/strong> of Lindsey Wilson College finished third with a time of 2:07.65 while junior\u00a0Annamaria Zombai<\/strong> of Keiser finished close behind at fourth (2:07.68).<\/p>\n
    Freshmen Kaylen Hou<\/strong> of SCAD and Sydney Darnell<\/strong> of Illinois Wesleyan University finished fifth (2:08.27) and sixth (2:08.32).<\/p>\n
    Senior\u00a0Sara Lacusky<\/strong>\u00a0of SCAD finished seventh (2:08.32) and Kiana Molina of Thomas University finished eighth (2:10.94).<\/p>\n

    Taking first on the men’s side was sophomore Zoltan Monori<\/strong>\u00a0of SCAD with a time of 1:50.29. Close behind him was freshman\u00a0Martin Le Pays du Teilleul<\/strong> of Lindenwood Belleville finishing second (1:50.53).<\/p>\n
    Coming in third was SCAD sophomore George Harsanyi\u00a0<\/strong>finishing with a time of 1:51.80. A close fourth, with a time of 1:51.91, was senior Joel Hansson<\/strong> of Keiser.<\/p>\n
    Freshman Mark Rieffenstahl<\/strong> of SCAD finished fifth (1:52.39) with Asbury senior Keith Jessee<\/strong> getting to the wall sixth (1:53.53). In seventh was Union College sophomore Wiktor Perkowski<\/strong> finishing at a 1:54.95.<\/p>\n
    Junior Lukas Macek<\/strong> of Keiser was disqualified.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 50 Freestyle<\/h3>\n
    Dropping significantly from prelims and finishing first in the women’s 50 free was Union College sophomore Jessica Oxford<\/strong>. Oxford touched at a 23.66.<\/p>\n
    It was a close race for second, .02 to be exact, between\u00a0Madison Kelly<\/strong> of the College of Idaho and Spencer Sheridan<\/strong> of SCAD.\u00a0Kelly finished second (23.71) while Sheridan finished third (23.73).\u00a0Not far behind them was junior\u00a0Leanne Latchocha<\/strong> of Olivet Nazarene finishing fourth with a t time of 23.76. Freshman Anna Kate McGinty<\/strong> of SCAD took fifth (23.92).<\/p>\n
    Just off the 23 mark was sophomore Emma Travis<\/strong> of Illinois Wesleyan finishing sixth (24.06). Representing the College of Idaho as well was\u00a0Maya Murphy<\/strong>\u00a0finishing\u00a0seventh (24.34).<\/p>\n
    Sophomore Elizabeth Skinner<\/strong> of the Loyola Swim Team finished eighth (24.41).<\/p>\n

    Men’s 50 Freestyle<\/h3>\n
    It was a quick 50 freestyle on the men’s side at the NAIA National Championships. Junior Marcel Nagyof<\/strong>\u00a0of Keiser posted a 19 for the crowd, finishing first (19.97). Behind him was his teammate, senior Andrei Stukov<\/strong>, finishing second (20.20).<\/p>\n
    In third was SCAD freshman Irvin Hoost<\/strong> finishing with a time of 20.33. Staying in the 20 range was Loyola Swim Team junior Warren Massimini<\/strong> finishing fourth (20.90), Midland University freshman Scott Cain<\/strong> finishing fifth (20.92) and Cumberlands sophomore Viktor Lyson<\/strong> finishing sixth (20.98).<\/p>\n
    Finishing in seventh was Keiser sophomore Matias Lazzerini<\/strong> with a time of 21.05. In eighth was Olivet Nazarene sophomore Iran\u00a0Cavalcante-Almeida<\/strong> with a time of 21.43.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 400 Medley Relay<\/h3>\n
    The Cumberlands team of Christina Klouda<\/strong>, Julia Hnidenko<\/strong>, Mendy De Rooi<\/strong> and Katy Smeltzer<\/strong> had no problems touching the wall first in the women’s 400 medley relay. The team finished three seconds ahead of the field with a time of 3:48.58.<\/p>\n
    The race for second was a different story, with SCAD and Keiser finishing .01 apart.<\/p>\n
    The SCAD team of Allie Rassenfoss<\/strong>, Sara Lacusky<\/strong>, Lydia Reinhardt<\/strong> and Spencer Sheridan<\/strong> out touched the Keiser women, finishing second with a time of 3:51.66<\/p>\n
    The Keiser team of Kamryn Gallowich<\/strong>, Ori Freinbach<\/strong>, Anna Herbst<\/strong> and Emma Augustsson<\/strong>\u00a0followed with a time of 3:51.67.<\/p>\n

    It was another Keiser relay win that concluded tonight’s final session. Marcel Nagy<\/strong>, Joel Hansson<\/strong>, Lukas Macek<\/strong> and Jan Suchan<\/strong> teamed up to win the event with a 3:15.94.<\/p>\n
    In second was the SCAD team of Gergo Zachary<\/strong>, Mark Rieffenstahl<\/strong>, Miles Kredich<\/strong> and Irvin Hoost<\/strong>. The men finished second with a time of 3:19.99.<\/p>\n
    Coming in third was the Cumberland men. The team of Daric Sundeen<\/strong>, Hunter Eaton<\/strong>, Viktor Lyson<\/strong> and Bryce Pierce<\/strong> finished with a time of 3:22.96.<\/p>\n
