Michigan started the night with a win in the 200 medley relay and Indiana won the 800 free as the two teams are tied at the top of the team standings after two events.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan broke the meet record in the 200 medley relay that they set all the way back in 2013 when they won the national title that year. Michigan State University          68<\/pre>\n<h3>200 Medley Relay<\/h3>\n<p>Michigan got the Big Ten Men&#8217;s Swimming and Diving Championships off to a fast start with a 1:22.76 in the 200 medley relay on Wednesday night at the University of Iowa.\u00a0<strong>Alex King\u00a0<\/strong>(21.33),\u00a0<strong>William Chan\u00a0<\/strong>(23.11),\u00a0<strong>Miles Smachlo\u00a0<\/strong>(19.92) and\u00a0<strong>Gustavo Borges\u00a0<\/strong>(18.40) broke the Big Ten meet record that Michigan set in 2013 at 1:23.25.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan is now ranked third in Division I behind Alabama (1:22.19) and NC State (1:22.37).<\/p>\n<p>Michigan finished ahead of Indiana (1:23.32) and Ohio State (1:24.16) as the Wolverines have now won eight of the last ten Big Ten titles in the 200 medley relay. The team of\u00a0<strong>Mohamed Samy\u00a0<\/strong>(1:33.36),\u00a0<strong>Vini Lanza\u00a0<\/strong>(1:32.45),\u00a0<strong>Zach Apple\u00a0<\/strong>(1:31.76) and\u00a0<strong>Ian Finnerty\u00a0<\/strong>(1:33.45) broke the pool record that USC set at the 2015 NCAAs of 6:11.64.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana was in a tight race with Ohio State and Michigan before Apple unleashed a 1:31 on the third leg. The Hoosiers are now second in Division I right now behind Florida&#8217;s time from SECs last week.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana has won three straight Big Ten titles in the 800 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan finished in second at 6:13.16 as they out-touched Ohio State (6:13.44) at the finish.<\/p>\n<p>The fastest splits outside of Indiana came from Ohio State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Paul DeLakis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:31.39), Michigan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Felix Aubock\u00a0<\/strong>(1:32.45), Ohio State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrew Loy\u00a0<\/strong>(1:32.75) and\u00a0Ohio State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ruslan Gaziev\u00a0<\/strong>(1:33.33).<\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin (6:22.86), Minnesota (6:22.87), Iowa (6:23.07), Penn State (6:24.31) and Northwestern (6:25.61) also placed in the
