Hoagland and Hart both do their club swimming with Charger Aquatics.<\/p>\n<p>Albuquerque Academy girls successfully three-peated, claiming the championship crown with a final score of 383 ahead of La Cueva (314) and Clovis (225). La Cueva earned the boys&#8217; team title for the first time in 22 years with 280 points to edge out Los Alamos (276) and\u00a0Albuquerque Academy (272.5).<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2019-new-mexico-state-championships\/high-school\/2019\/February\/23?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fhigh-school%3Fpage%3D1%26orderBy%3DResult.MeetStartDateTime%26sortDirection%3D1%26q%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a> for full results.<\/p>\n<h1>Girls Meet<\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Albuquerque Academy &#8211; 383<\/li>\n<li>La Cueva &#8211; 314<\/li>\n<li>Clovis &#8211; 225<\/li>\n<li>Las Cruces &#8211; 186<\/li>\n<li>Albuquerque &#8211; 181<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>La Cueva&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emma Long\u00a0<\/strong>(28.06),\u00a0<strong>Natalie Jones\u00a0<\/strong>(29.89), <strong>Chrysten Pacheco\u00a0<\/strong>(25.69) and\u00a0<strong>Hannah Meek\u00a0<\/strong>(24.15) began the meet by winning the opening 4&#215;50 medley relay in 1:47.79.\u00a0<strong>Hannah Grenemyer\u00a0<\/strong>(53.43), Long (54.05), Pacheco (52.10) and Jones (52.20) also won the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:31.78, five seconds faster than the rest of the field.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after helping her medley relay time win, Pacheco was back in the water to claim the 200 free title by posting a three-second victory in 1:52.09. She then went on to win the 100 fly, earning another gold medal with a final time of 56.11.<\/p>\n<p>Jones splashed-and-dashed her way to a win in the 50 free, racing to the wall in a quick 23.71. She proved her sprint talent by also winning the 100 free in 52.46, only slightly ahead of runner-up\u00a0<strong>Sophia Gossum\u00a0<\/strong>(52.63) of Santa Fe Prep.<\/p>\n<p>Albuquerque Academy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Allison Bernier\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 IM in 2:05.61 while her teammate,\u00a0<strong>MacKenzie Jarrell<\/strong>, placed second in 2:07.92. Shortly after, Bernier dove back in the water to win the 500 free in 4:59.30 as the only swimmer to break five-minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Albuquerque&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jessica Albanna\u00a0<\/strong>dove to first on the 1-meter board, finishing with a final score of 469.05 ahead of teammate\u00a0<strong>Nadine Coulie&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>451.25 points for second.\u00a0Albuquerque Academy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sofia Taylor\u00a0<\/strong>(25.44),\u00a0<strong>Sowang Kundeling\u00a0<\/strong>(24.73),\u00a0<strong>Kaci Jarry\u00a0<\/strong>(25.22) and Bernier (23.54) won the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:38.93, just ahead of runner-up Las Cruces (1:39.07).<\/p>\n<p>Sandia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Fiona Trotz-Chavez\u00a0<\/strong>powered home to a win in the 100 back, winning in 57.90 to guide the first five swimmers under 60 seconds.\u00a0Eldorado&#8217;s <strong>Grace Gehlert\u00a0<\/strong>got her hands to the wall the fastest in the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.07 ahead of Sandia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Grace Pino\u00a0<\/strong>(1:05.41).<\/p>\n<h1>Boys Meet<\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>La Cueva &#8211; 280<\/li>\n<li>Los Alamos &#8211; 276<\/li>\n<li>Albuquerque Academy &#8211; 272.5<\/li>\n<li>Cibola &#8211; 256<\/li>\n<li>Cleveland &#8211; 228.5<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Cleveland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Eli Meyer\u00a0<\/strong>(24.25),\u00a0<strong>Kendall Southwell\u00a0<\/strong>(27.05),\u00a0<strong>Camron Pazand\u00a0<\/strong>(22.25) and\u00a0<strong>Brady Peters\u00a0<\/strong>(22.03) began the boys&#8217; meet by winning the opening 4&#215;50 medley relay in 1:35.58.\u00a0Sandia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Joseph Cecco\u00a0<\/strong>cruised to victory in the 200 free, stopping the clock in 1:42.39 for the win.<\/p>\n<p>Hoagland stole the show in the 200 IM, winning by five seconds with a final time of 1:48.01 to eclipse\u00a0<strong>Joshua Harlon&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>state record of\u00a01:48.04 set last year. Shortly after, he dove back in the water to dominated the 500 free by 12 seconds in 4:37.92.<\/p>\n<p>Hart<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>won the 50 free, splashing-and-dashing his way to the wall in a swift 20.68 to hold off runner-up\u00a0<strong>Maxwell Hawton\u00a0<\/strong>(20.76) of Sandia. Hart then went on to race his way to first place in the 100 free with a time of 44.72 to tie\u00a0<strong>John Holler&#8217;s<\/strong> state record set in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>After taking second in the 50 free, Hawton redeemed himself by winning the 100 back in 49.57 as the only athlete in the race under the 50-second barrier.\u00a0Albuquerque&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Pierce Holler\u00a0<\/strong>was the first of three competitors under the 60-second mark in the 100 breast, touching the wall in 56.56 for the gold medal.<\/p>\n<p>Eldorado&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Darien O&#8217;Donnell\u00a0<\/strong>flew to the top of the podium in the 100 fly, finishing in 49.42 as the only swimmer in the field to sneak under the two-minute marker.\u00a0O&#8217;Donnell&#8217;s teammate,\u00a0<strong>Issac<\/strong> <strong>Newman<\/strong>,\u00a0dove to first on the 1-meter board with a final score of 567.60, which was good enough to set a new pool record.<\/p>\n<p>Cibola&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Aidan Gallegos\u00a0<\/strong>(22.38),\u00a0<strong>Ryan Cordray\u00a0<\/strong>(22.76),\u00a0<strong>Jamin Harlan\u00a0<\/strong>(22.14) and Hart (20.53) won the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:27.81.
