T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>A total of three Ohio state records were broken at this meet:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>North Canton Hoover &#8211; 4&#215;50 medley relay (1:41.02)<\/li>\n<li>Ursuline Academy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Megan Glass\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; 100 fly (53.31)<\/li>\n<li>Broadview Hts Brecksville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hannah<\/strong> <strong>Bach\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; 100 breast (59.29)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mason won the championship crown\u00a0for the second-straight year, finishing with 204 points\u00a0to secure their second title in program history. North Canton Hoover was right behind with a score of 201 for second place and Hudson took third with 165 points.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2019-ohio-state-championships-full-results\/high-school\/2019\/February\/21?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fhigh-school%3Fpage%3D1%26orderBy%3DResult.MeetStartDateTime%26sortDirection%3D1%26q%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a> for full results.<\/p>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Mason &#8211; 204<\/li>\n<li>North Canton Hoover &#8211; 201<\/li>\n<li>Hudson &#8211; 165<\/li>\n<li>Dublin Coffman &#8211; 160<\/li>\n<li>Upper Arlington &#8211; 155.5<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>North Canton Hoover&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Caitlin Cronin\u00a0<\/strong>(26.19), <strong>Maya Lewis\u00a0<\/strong>(28.50),\u00a0<strong>Parker Timken\u00a0<\/strong>(23.85) and\u00a0<strong>Caroline Ehlers\u00a0<\/strong>(22.48) began the meet with a bang as they combined in 1:41.02 to take down Upper Arlington&#8217;s state record of 1:41.88 set in 2017.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Mason took second in 1:42.07 while Ursuline Academy was third in 1:42.65.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/michigan-picks-up-verbal-commit-from-ymca-national-champ-megan-glass\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Future Michigan Wolverine<\/a> Glass cruised to first in the 200 free, stopping the clock in 1:47.77 as the first of six swimmers to break the 1:50 mark. Dublin Coffman&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kristyn Sabol\u00a0<\/strong>was a half-second behind in 1:48.26 for the runner-up spot and Mason&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Leanna Wall\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 1:48.48.<\/p>\n<p>Dublin Coffman&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ellie Andrews\u00a0<\/strong>was the only swimmer in the field to crack the two-minute barrier in the 200 IM, doing so in a winning time of 1:59.73. Brunswick&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Felicia Pasadyn\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 2:00.08 while Mason&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Reese Lugbill\u00a0<\/strong>wound up third in 2:02.92.<\/p>\n<p>Not too long after helping her medley relay team to victory, Timken, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ohio-sprinter-parker-timken-verbally-commits-to-nc-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">who has committed to NC State<\/a>, was back in the water to splash-and-dash her way to a 50 free win with a quick time of 22.61. Her teammate Ehlers raced to second in 23.03 while Hudson&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mackenzie DeWitt\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in 23.22.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after winning the 200 free, Glass was back in the water to fly to the top of the podium in the 100 fly. Her final time of 53.31 eclipsed\u00a0<strong>Maddie Martin&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>2011 Ohio state record of 53.34. Dublin Coffman&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hannah Bailey\u00a0<\/strong>(54.45) and Mason&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Harna Minezawa\u00a0<\/strong>(24.91) finished second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Morgan Southwall <\/strong>of West Clermont\u00a0dove to first on the 1-meter board, finishing with a final score of 479.55 for the win. Gahanna Lincoln&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maycey Vieta\u00a0<\/strong>placed second with 474.40 points and Upper Arlington&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Julia Fidanza\u00a0<\/strong>took third with a total score of 445.30.<\/p>\n<p>Timken showed her sprint talent by adding the 100 free title to her 50 free gold from earlier, racing to the wall in 49.65 as the only swimmer to sneak under 50 seconds. Wall grabbed the silver medal in 50.31 and bronze went to New Albany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ava Lachey\u00a0<\/strong>in 50.54.<\/p>\n<p>Hudson&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Paige<\/strong> <strong>McCormick<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/hudson-explorers-paige-mccormick-sends-2020-verbal-to-louisville\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">who has given her verbal to Louisville<\/a>,\u00a0dominated the 500 free, winning by three seconds in a final time of 4:48.90 as the first of only six swimmers to crack five minutes. Dublin Jerome&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maya Geringer\u00a0<\/strong>swam to second in 4:51.74 and Anderson&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Grace Hastings\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in 4:52.72.<\/p>\n<p>Ehlers (23.02),\u00a0<strong>Reagan St. Clair\u00a0<\/strong>(23.88),\u00a0<strong>Kate Lochridge\u00a0<\/strong>(23.38) and Timken (22.15) combined to give North Canton Hoover another relay victory, claiming the 4&#215;50 free in 1:32.43 which was just shy off the state record of 1:32.35. Mason (1:33.21) and Hudson (1:34.54) rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n<p>After taking second in the 200 IM, Harvard-commit Pasadyn redeemed herself by winning the 100 back by nearly 1.5 seconds with a final time of 53.31. Kings Mills Kings&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Brynna Wolfe<\/strong>\u00a0raced to second place in 54.71 and Centerville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicola Lane\u00a0<\/strong>finished a close third in 54.83.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 24\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Bach, who will attend Ohio State this fall, blasted a time of 59.29 for a win in the 100 breast. Her time broke the own state record performance of 1:00.58 she set during prelims; the previous record was set by\u00a0West Branch\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Jamyson Robb\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.38) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/four-state-records-fall-at-ohio-dii-meet-gates-mills-hawken-girls-win-fifth-straight-hunting-valley-university-school-boys-repeat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at the DII State meet<\/a> yesterday. Andrews (1:01.76) and Ursuline Academy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Claudia Butterfield\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.37) completed the top three.<\/p>\n<p>New Albany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lexi Elkovitch\u00a0<\/strong>(51.57),\u00a0<strong>Olivia Hovorka\u00a0<\/strong>(52.03),\u00a0<strong>Mia Lachey\u00a0<\/strong>(51.82) and Lachey (50.20) concluded the girls&#8217; meet by winning the 4&#215;100 free relay with a time of 3:25.62.
