T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>A total of four Ohio state records were broken at this meet:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cincinnati Mariemont&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cora Dupre\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; 200 free (1:45.91)<\/li>\n<li>West Branch&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jamyson Robb\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; 100 breast (1:01.38)<\/li>\n<li>Waynesville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Owen Conley\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; 200 IM (1:48.52)<\/li>\n<li>Bowling Green&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>CJ Layne\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; 100 breast (54.48)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gates Mills Hawken won the girls&#8217; team title for the fifth-straight year, doing so in dominant fashion ahead of Shaker Hts Hathaway Brown (167.5) and Toledo St. Ursula Academy (155.5).<\/p>\n<p>The boys of\u00a0Hunting Valley University School swept all three relays en route to repeating as team champions with 331 points ahead of\u00a0Gates Mills Hawken (212) and Lexington (133).<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2019-ohio-state-championships-full-results\/high-school\/2019\/February\/21?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fhigh-school%3Fpage%3D1%26orderBy%3DResult.MeetStartDateTime%26sortDirection%3D1%26q%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a> for full results.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>Girls Meet<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Gates Mills Hawken &#8211; 378<\/li>\n<li>Shaker Hts Hathaway Brown &#8211; 167.5<\/li>\n<li>Toledo St. Ursula Academy &#8211; 155.5<\/li>\n<li>Columbus School for Girls &#8211; 136<\/li>\n<li>Cincinnati Seven Hills &#8211; 134<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Gates Mills Hawken&#8217;s began their quest for the team title as the team of\u00a0<strong>Jessica Eden\u00a0<\/strong>(26.02),\u00a0<strong>Sydney Bare\u00a0<\/strong>(28.70),\u00a0<strong>Abby Hay\u00a0<\/strong>(24.05) and\u00a0<strong>Audrey Dietz\u00a0<\/strong>(23.58) opened the meet by winning the 4&#215;50 medley relay in 1:42.35, four seconds ahead of the field.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after helping her medley relay team to victory, Hay was back in the water to win the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.90.\u00a0Pepper Pike Orange&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Janie Boyle\u00a0<\/strong>dove to first on the 1-meter diving board, finishing with a final score of 483.70.<\/p>\n<p>Dupre lit the pool on fire in the 200 free, winning by five seconds in a final time of 1:45.91 as the only swimmer to break the 1:50-mark. Her time blasted the old state record of 1:46.96 set by\u00a0<strong>Alexandra Wooden\u00a0<\/strong>in 2015. She then went on to win the 100 free in 48.96, only a half-second of of\u00a0<strong>Margo Geer&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>2010\u00a0state mark of 48.45.<\/p>\n<p>Columbus School for Girls&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Nyah Funderburke\u00a0<\/strong>splashed-and-dashed her way to a win in the 50 free, stopping the clock in a quick 23.46.\u00a0Toledo St. Ursula Academy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Audrey Cesar\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Shaker Hts Hathaway Brown&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mairin O&#8217;Brien\u00a0<\/strong>tied for second in 23.76.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jordan Aurnou-Rhees\u00a0<\/strong>of\u00a0Columbus School for Girls flew to the top of the podium in the 100 fly, getting her hands to the wall the fastest in 55.23 for the win ahead of Hays (55.34).\u00a0Cincinnati Seven Hills&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Emma Shuppert\u00a0<\/strong>powered home to a win in the 100 back with a final time of 53.93, coming within inches of\u00a0<strong>Hannah Stevens&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>state record of 53.87 set back in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Toledo St. Ursula Academy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Molly Dynda\u00a0<\/strong>(24.24),\u00a0<strong>Corinne Staneart\u00a0<\/strong>(24.36),\u00a0<strong>Catherine Kight\u00a0<\/strong>(24.22) and Cesar (23.15) won the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:35.97, only two-hundreths ahead of runner-up Shaker Hts Hathaway Brown (1:35.99).<\/p>\n<p>After setting a new state mark in the 100 breast during prelims, Robb lowered her mark yet again during finals. She touched the wall in 1:01.38, going even faster than the 1:02.21 she swam the other day to etch her name in the record books.<\/p>\n<p>Gates Mills Hawken freshman\u00a0<strong>Tori Culotta\u00a0<\/strong>earned the first state title of her career by winning the 500 free in 4:51.02 as the first of only five swimmers to break the five-minute barrier. Her teammates\u00a0<strong>Ella Gilson\u00a0<\/strong>(53.17),\u00a0<strong>Maggie Mallett\u00a0<\/strong>(53.97), Hay (51.22) and Eden (51.28) secured the team title by winning the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:29.64.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>Boys Meet<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Hunting Valley University School &#8211; 331<\/li>\n<li>Gates Mills Hawken &#8211; 212<\/li>\n<li>Lexington &#8211; 133<\/li>\n<li>Cincinnati Seven Hills &#8211; 121<\/li>\n<li>Gahanna Columbus Academy &#8211; 119<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The boys&#8217; meet began as Hunting Valley University School&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicolas Tekieli\u00a0<\/strong>(23.29),\u00a0<strong>Cal Ritzmann\u00a0<\/strong>(26.52),\u00a0<strong>Frank Applebaum\u00a0<\/strong>(22.27) and\u00a0<strong>Will Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>(21.24) won the opening 4&#215;50 medley relay with a combined time of 1:33.32.\u00a0<strong>Owen Hanna\u00a0<\/strong>(21.31),\u00a0<strong>Jeffrey Chi\u00a0<\/strong>(21.68),\u00a0Zhang (21.13) and\u00a0<strong>Ethan Banks\u00a0<\/strong>(22.04) also won the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:26.16.<\/p>\n<p>Hanna later went on to win the 100 back in 48.40 as the first of only three swimmers in the field under the 50-second barrier, coming within inches of\u00a0<strong>Matthew Marquaudt&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>48.29 he set three years ago for the state record.<\/p>\n<p>Conley<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>cruised to first in the 200 free, winning the event in 1:37.07 as the only swimmer in the field under the 1:40 mark. With only a few minutes in between events, Conley stepped back up on the blocks to post a winning time of 1:48.52 in the 200 IM. That time eclipsed his own state record of 1:48.94 he set last season.<\/p>\n<p>Canton Central Catholic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Joey Mullen\u00a0<\/strong>sprinted his way to the top spot in the 50 free, racing to the wall in a swift 21.23.\u00a0Not too far behind him was Bowling Green&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jack Burroughs\u00a0<\/strong>in second with a time of 21.31.<\/p>\n<p>The 100 fly title went to Alliance&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Will<\/strong> <strong>Rose<\/strong>, who posted a full-second victory of the runner-up with a time of 48.04. He showed his sprint talent by adding the 100 free gold medal to his hardware collection, sprinting to the wall in 45.29.<\/p>\n<p>Kettering Archbishop Alter&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kevin Leibold\u00a0<\/strong>dominated the 500 free, winning by five seconds in 4:25.94 to come within one second of\u00a0<strong>Brock Turner&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>2014 state record of 4:24.31.\u00a0Cincinnati Wyoming&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ilya Gerasimchuk\u00a0<\/strong>dove to first on the 1-meter board, finishing with a score of 452.90 for the win.<\/p>\n<p>After setting a new state mark in the 100 breast during prelims, Layne lowered his mark yet again during finals.
