Night four of the 2019 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships saw the Georgia Bulldogs claim titles in both the men’s and women’s 200 fly, while a slew of other schools picked up individual victories as well.<\/p>\n
Auburn’s\u00a0Aly Tetzloff<\/strong> produced a commanding 100 back, while South Carolina’s\u00a0Itay Goldfaden<\/strong> and Missouri’s\u00a0Caleb Hicks<\/strong> battled for the men’s 100 breast title.<\/p>\n Schedule of Events:<\/strong><\/p>\n Hit refresh for the latest results.<\/p>\n The Georgia Bulldogs put up a 1-3-5 finish as freshmen\u00a0Olivia Carter\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Dakota Luther,\u00a0<\/strong>along with senior\u00a0Caitlin Casazza<\/strong>, collected some serious points. After tying for the top seed in the preliminary heats. Carter improved upon her prelims time of 1:54.46 with a final time of 1:53.23, good for an ‘A’ cut, while Luther lowered her seed time to a 1:54.32. Casazza brought in a fifth place finish with a time of 1:55.21.<\/p>\n Similarly, Texas A&M’s\u00a0Jing Quah<\/strong> and\u00a0Taylor Pike<\/strong> grabbed second and fourth place for the Aggies. Jing delivered a 1:54.29, while Pike posted a 1:54.43.<\/p>\n Kentucky’s\u00a0Izzy Gati<\/strong> and\u00a0Haley McInerny<\/strong> turned in times of 1:55.35 and 1:56.09 for sixth and seventh, followed closely by Florida’s\u00a0Georgia Marris’<\/strong> 1:56.15.<\/p>\n Camden Murphy<\/strong> added another butterfly victory for the Georgia Bulldogs with a top showing in the men’s 200 fly. Despite trailing Florida’s Maxime Rooney<\/strong> at the 150-yard mark,\u00a0Murphy turned up the heat to propel forward and touch first with a time of 1:40.62. Murphy, who qualified first for finals, improved upon his prelims time by 1.56 seconds.<\/p>\n Rooney finished second overall with a time of 1:40.87, while South Carolina’s\u00a0Fynn Minuth<\/strong> took third with a time of 1:41.49.<\/p>\n Texas A&M’s\u00a0Angel Martinez<\/strong> delivered a 1:41.68 for fifth, followed closely by Missouri’s\u00a0Micah Slaton<\/strong> and his time of 1:41.86.<\/p>\n Auburn’s\u00a0Santiago Grassi<\/strong> (1:43.05), Florida’s\u00a0Erge Gezmis<\/strong> (1:43.90), and Tennessee’s\u00a0Marc Hinawi<\/strong> (1:44.33) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n Auburn senior\u00a0Aly Tetzloff<\/strong> jumped to the lead in the women’s 100 back and commanded the race from start to finish. Tetzloff was one of three athletes with a reaction time of 0.55; she flipped first at the 50-yard mark with a time of 24.39; and cruised to the finish to improve upon her 50.94 seed with a 50.92.<\/p>\n Kentucky’s\u00a0Asia Seidt<\/strong> held off Florida’s\u00a0Sherridon Dressel<\/strong> to claim second with a 51.16, while Dressel slipped to third with a 51.17.<\/p>\n Erin Falconer<\/strong>, also a senior at Auburn, picked up fourth place overall with a time of 51.62, followed by Missouri’s\u00a0Haley Hynes’<\/strong> 51.92.<\/p>\n Alabama’s\u00a0Rhyan White<\/strong> (52.08), Missouri’s\u00a0Sarah Thompson<\/strong> (52.21), and Florida’s\u00a0Emma Ball\u00a0<\/strong>(52.45) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n Alabama’s\u00a0Zane Waddell<\/strong> maintained his spot atop the men’s 100 back leader-board with a top showing in finals. Waddell catapulted off the start with a swift first 50 yards, flipping at 21.50. He then continued to pull away from the competition, clocking a final time of 44.77.<\/p>\n Kacper Stokowski<\/strong> of Florida held off a fast charging\u00a0Joey Reilman<\/strong> of Tennessee to finish second overall. Stokowski stopped the clock at a time of 45.31, just ahead of Reilman’s 43.35.<\/p>\n Georgia’s\u00a0Javier Acevedo<\/strong> turned in a fourth place finish of 45.42, while fifth place was picked up by Florida’s\u00a0Bayley Main\u00a0<\/strong>(45.62).<\/p>\n Missouri’s\u00a0Daniel Hein<\/strong> (45.69),\u00a0Texas A&M’s\u00a0Shaine Casas<\/strong> (45.94), and\u00a0Missouri’s\u00a0Nick Alexander\u00a0<\/strong>(46.13) were sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n Anna Belousova<\/strong> of Texas A&M raced into the possibility realm for a new SEC meet\/pool record in the women’s 100 breast. Belousova delivered a 57.99 to claim gold and move up from her second place seed time of 59.16.<\/p>\n Top seed,\u00a0Nikol Popov<\/strong> of Tennessee, grabbed second place overall with a time of 58.24, lowering her prelims time of 58.62.<\/p>\n Sofia Carnevale<\/strong> of Georgia rounded out the top three with a showing of 59.19.<\/p>\n Louisiana State’s\u00a0Summer Spradley<\/strong> collected a fourth place finish of 59.60, followed closely by a tie between Kentucky’s\u00a0Bailey Bonnett<\/strong> and Alabama’s\u00a0Justine Macfarlane<\/strong> at 59.72.<\/p>\n Texas A&M’s\u00a0Kylie Powers<\/strong> and Louisiana State’s\u00a0Olivia Paskulin<\/strong> completed the top eight with times of 1:00.24 and 1:00.95.<\/p>\n The men’s 100 breast final featured a close battle between\u00a0South Carolina’s\u00a0Itay Goldfaden<\/strong> and Missouri’s\u00a0Caleb Hicks<\/strong>. The two battled throughout the entire race, stopping the clock a slim .08 seconds apart. Goldfaden jumped to an early lead in the race, splitting 23.94 in the first 50 over Hicks’ 24.01. Hicks gained some ground in the final 50 yards, splitting 27.79 to Goldfaden’s 27.78, but it was not quite enough. Goldfaden took the victory with a 51.72 over Hicks’ 51.80.<\/p>\n Florida’s\u00a0Marco Guarente<\/strong> turned in a 52.12 for third place overall, while Missouri’s\u00a0Jordan O’Brien<\/strong> (52.43) and Texas A&M’s\u00a0Benjamin Walker<\/strong> (52.55) finished close behind.<\/p>\n Alabama’s Laurent Bams<\/strong>\u00a0(52.57), Tennessee’s\u00a0Michael Houlie<\/strong> (52.64), and Auburn’s\u00a0Tommy Brewer<\/strong> (52.83) were sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n Marissa Roth<\/strong> of South Carolina broke the 300-point barrier in the women’s platform diving, posting a final point tally of 304.80.<\/p>\n Kentucky’s\u00a0Courtney Clark<\/strong> finished second overall with 292.90, just ahead of Texas A&M’s 292.25.<\/p>\n Kyndal Knight<\/strong> of Kentucky turned in a fourth place finish of 253.80, while Missouri’s\u00a0Sarah Rousseau<\/strong> took fifth with 251.70.<\/p>\n Auburn’s\u00a0Alison Maillard<\/strong> (247.35), Florida’s\u00a0Brooke Madden<\/strong> (228.75), and Florida’s\u00a0Emma Whitner<\/strong> (216.55) were sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n The Tennessee relay team of\u00a0Erika Brown\u00a0<\/strong>(50.88),\u00a0Nikol Popov<\/strong> (58.05),\u00a0Madeline Banic<\/strong> (51.32), and\u00a0Bailey Grinter<\/strong> (48.18) topped the women’s 400 medley relay with a combined time of 3:28.43.<\/p>\n The Auburn women turned in a 3:29.06 for second place, while Kentucky picked up third with a 3:31.27.
