After tying for the top seed in the preliminary heats. Carter improved upon her prelims time of 1:54.46 with a final time of 1:53.23, good for an &#8216;A&#8217; cut, while Luther lowered her seed time to a 1:54.32. Casazza brought in a fifth place finish with a time of 1:55.21.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Texas A&amp;M&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jing Quah<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Taylor Pike<\/strong> grabbed second and fourth place for the Aggies. Despite trailing Florida&#8217;s <strong>Maxime Rooney<\/strong> at the 150-yard mark,\u00a0Murphy turned up the heat to propel forward and touch first with a time of 1:40.62. Waddell catapulted off the start with a swift first 50 yards, flipping at 21.50. He then continued to pull away from the competition, clocking a final time of 44.77.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kacper Stokowski<\/strong> of Florida held off a fast charging\u00a0<strong>Joey Reilman<\/strong> of Tennessee to finish second overall. The two battled throughout the entire race, stopping the clock a slim .08 seconds apart. Goldfaden jumped to an early lead in the race, splitting 23.94 in the first 50 over Hicks&#8217; 24.01. Hicks gained some ground in the final 50 yards, splitting 27.79 to Goldfaden&#8217;s 27.78, but it was not quite enough.
