Georgetown &#8211; 231<br \/>\n2. Frisco Wakeland &#8211; 149<br \/>\n3. Dallas Highland Park &#8211; 141.5<br \/>\n4. Richmond Foster &#8211; 133.5<br \/>\n5. Humble Kingwood Park &#8211; 126<\/p>\n<p>The meet began as Dallas Highland Park&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Max VanCauwelaert\u00a0<\/strong>(25.17),\u00a0<strong>Henry Wang\u00a0<\/strong>(25.37),\u00a0<strong>Ethan Nguyen\u00a0<\/strong>(22.47) and\u00a0<strong>Peter Paulus\u00a0<\/strong>(20.65) won the opening 4&#215;50 medley relay in 1:33.66, just off their own 5A record of 1:33.51. CS A&amp;M Consolidated finished second in 1:35.55 and Richmond Foster took third in 1:36.48.<\/p>\n<p>The 200 free came down to a finger-nail finish: Aledo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Elijah\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Sohn\u00a0<\/strong>touched the wall in 1:38.83, only .01 ahead of runner-up\u00a0<strong>Corby Furrer\u00a0<\/strong>of Georgetown&#8217;s 1:38.84.\u00a0Mansfield Legacy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Eric Stelmar\u00a0<\/strong>also snuck under the 1:40 mark in 1:39.55 for third.<\/p>\n<p>It was another close race in the 200 IM as the top two finishers both broke 1:50 and were only separated by .06.\u00a0<strong>Jed Michael Jones\u00a0<\/strong>of Lucas Lovejoy won in 1:49.89, followed closely by\u00a0<strong>William Corona\u00a0<\/strong>of Georgetown in 1:49.95. Friendswood&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Max Hardt\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 1:51.08.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/auburn-secures-verbal-from-texas-5a-record-holder-jack-armstrong\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Future Auburn Tiger<\/a> Armstrong splashed-and-dashed his way to gold medal in the 50 free in record-setting fashion. His time of 20.20 broke\u00a0<strong>Brooks Powell&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>old 5A mark of 20.28 set back in 2012. CC Flour Bluff&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alex Wallett\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed silver in 20.83 while Richmond Foster&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Trent Cook\u00a0<\/strong>and Paulus tied for third in 20.99.<\/p>\n<p>G. Alarc\u00f3n, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/louisville-collects-verbal-from-nitros-greyson-alarcon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a Louisville commit<\/a>,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>flew to the top of the podium in the 100 fly, finishing with a final time of 48.41. He was just off his own 5A record of 48.05 he set during prelims. Wallett also cracked 50 seconds to place second in 49.71 as CS A&amp;M Consolidated&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrew Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>secured third in 50.24.<\/p>\n<p>Armstrong displayed his sprint talent by dominating the 100 free by just over two seconds. His final time of 43.96 crushed his own 5A record of 44.57 he set at this meet last year. Corona (46.05) and Sohn (46.22) finished second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>It was a tight race in the 500 free as 200 free runner-up Furrer found himself with the gold medal in a final time of 4:31.69. Close behind him was Lubbock&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kolos Nagy\u00a0<\/strong>in 4:31.84 and Jones raced to third in 4:34.36.<\/p>\n<p>The 4&#215;50 free relay title went to Georgetown&#8217;s\u00a0Corona (21.44), Alarc\u00f3n (20.95),\u00a0<strong>Landon Alarc\u00f3n\u00a0<\/strong>(21.89) and Furrer (20.59) in 1:24.87, just shy of the 5A mark of 1:24.69. Humble Kingwood Park (1:25.47) and Richmond Foster (1:25.90) completed the top three teams.<\/p>\n<p>G. Alarc\u00f3n secured his second personal win of the meet in the 100 back, powering home to the wall in 48.89. Mansfield Legacy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Eric Stelmar\u00a0<\/strong>also broke 50 seconds in 49.59 for second and Boerne Champion&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Logan Sandidge\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed third in 50.06.<\/p>\n<p>Paulus got his hands to the wall first in the 100 breast, touching in 56.38 for a gold medal. Silver belonged to Friendswood&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Max Hardt\u00a0<\/strong>in 56.77 and Dallas Highland Park&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Henry Wang\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed bronze with a time of 57.05.<\/p>\n<p>Montgomery Lake Creek&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mason Williams\u00a0<\/strong>dove to first on the 1-meter board, posting a final score of 480.75 for the win. Second went to Northside Harlan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicholas McCann\u00a0<\/strong>with 441.45 points and Lubbock Coronado&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rhett Hensley\u00a0<\/strong>took third with a total score of 391.60.<\/p>\n<p>The meet ended on a high note as Georgetown&#8217;s Corona (46.15), G. Alarc\u00f3n (46.48),\u00a0<strong>Daniel Pineiro\u00a0<\/strong>(47.10) and Furrer (45.43) won the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:05.16, bettering the previous 5A reocrd of 3:06.36 they set during prelims.
