George Mason &#8211; 397<br \/>\n2. Maggie Walker Governor &#8211; 351<br \/>\n3. Clarke County &#8211; 212<br \/>\n4. Bruton &#8211; 147<br \/>\n5. Virginia &#8211; 126<\/p>\n<p>The meet began as George Mason&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>TJ Roche\u00a0<\/strong>(24.56),\u00a0Janicki (26.11),\u00a0<strong>Ian McCracken\u00a0<\/strong>(24.52) and\u00a0<strong>Ryan York\u00a0<\/strong>(22.25) combined to win the 4&#215;50 medley relay with a time of 1:37.44. Their time broke\u00a0Maggie Walker Governor Class 2 record of 1:37.77 set last year.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after helping his medley relay team to gold, Janicki found himself on top of the podium in the 200 IM. He dropped nearly 13 seconds off his prelims time to win in dominant fashion, stopping the clock in 1:51.64 for a new Class 2 record, taking down <strong>Miller Surette&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>2015 mark of\u00a01:53.35.\u00a0Janicki also took gold in the 100 back in 50.10 for another Class 2 mark of his own, breaking the old mark of 51.61 set by\u00a0<strong>Ben Kennedy\u00a0<\/strong>in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>After leading off the victorious opening relay, Roche was back in the water to sprint his way to the top spot in the 50 free with a speedy 21.67. His teammate York finished second in 22.46 and Virginia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cooper Gobble\u00a0<\/strong>raced to third in 22.54. Roche then went on to win the 100 free in 47.85, followed by Gobble (49.28) and York (49.42).<\/p>\n<p>Sprigg cruised to first in the 200 free, posting a three-second victory with a final time of 1:43.95. Maggie Walker Governor&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Noah Ratliff\u00a0<\/strong>also got under the 1:50 mark in 1:46.73 for second.\u00a0After taking second in the 200 free, Ratliff flew to first in the 100 fly with a time of 52.49.<\/p>\n<p>Martinsville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Wilson Bowles\u00a0<\/strong>dove to the top spot on the 1-meter board, finishing with a final score of 361.90.\u00a0It was a close race in the 500 free as Rye Cove&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>RJ Goins<\/strong>\u00a0(4:59.83)\u00a0ultimately took first ahead of Bruton&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chris Homer\u00a0<\/strong>(4:59.91).<\/p>\n<p>After taking second in the 200 IM, Paulson touched the wall in 1:01.86 for the 100 breast victory ahead of teammate\u00a0<strong>Joseph Mistretta\u00a0<\/strong>(1:03.82) and Madison County&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Luke Wintersgill\u00a0<\/strong>(1:05.52).<\/p>\n<p>George Mason&#8217;s Roche (22.00),\u00a0<strong>Matt Ng\u00a0<\/strong>(23.19),\u00a0<strong>Jack Lindly\u00a0<\/strong>(22.42) and York (22.61) combined to win the 4&#215;50 free relay. Maggie Walker Governor&#8217;s Ratliff (49.24),\u00a0<strong>Lorenzo Galang\u00a0<\/strong>(51.57),\u00a0<strong>Bryce Mortimer\u00a0<\/strong>(50.75) and Paulson concluded the meet as 4&#215;100 free relay champions in 3:19.94.<\/p>\n<h1>Girls Meet<\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<p>1. Bruton &#8211; 124<\/p>\n<p>The girls&#8217; meet began as George Mason&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ella Reithinger\u00a0<\/strong>(30.34),\u00a0<strong>Marie Roche\u00a0<\/strong>(31.38),\u00a0<strong>Maddy Dubois\u00a0<\/strong>(27.50) and\u00a0<strong>Ellen Chadwick\u00a0<\/strong>(23.90) won the 4&#215;50 medley relay by four seconds with a final time of 1:53.12, eclipsing their own Class 2 record of 1:53.18 set last season.<\/p>\n<p>Chadwick (24.44),\u00a0<strong>Ruby Loeper-Viti\u00a0<\/strong>(25.72),\u00a0<strong>Sigrid Edson\u00a0<\/strong>(25.66) and Roche (25.49) also won the 4&#215;50 free relay. Their combined time of 1:41.31 was about a second faster than Maggie Walker Governor&#8217;s old class mark of 1:42.38.\u00a0<strong>Hedda Jagerskog\u00a0<\/strong>(58.97), Edson (56.32), Dubois (58.44) and Loeper-Viti (54.99) also won the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:48.72.<\/p>\n<p>Miller<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>dominated the 200 free, winning by seven seconds as the only swimmer under the 1:50 barrier. Her time of 1:49.13 destroyed the old Class 2 mark of 1:58.75 set by\u00a0<strong>Gina Lynch\u00a0<\/strong>in 2018. Miller rewrote her own class record in the 500 free, racing to the wall in 4:53.18.<\/p>\n<p>Not too long after helping her medley relay win, Roche was back in the water to splash-and-dash her way to a 50 free win in 24.96.\u00a0George Wythe&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tatum Robinson\u00a0<\/strong>raced to gold in the 200 IM, stopping the clock in 2:11.09 for a four-second victory. Maggie Walker Governor&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anna Jepson\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed gold on the 1-meter board, diving to first with a total of 449.50 points for a new Class 2 record of her own.<\/p>\n<p>Cusano flew past her own 2017 Class 2 mark of\u00a057.18 in the 100 fly, getting her hands to the wall as the only swimmer under the minute-marker in a quick 54.54. Cusano also grabbed another win and Class 2 record in the 100 back with a fast time of 55.31.<\/p>\n<p>Another Class 2 mark fell, this time by Glenvar&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Resse Dunkenberger\u00a0<\/strong>in the 100 free. Her winning time of 52.30 was two seconds faster than the old record of\u00a054.28 set by\u00a0<strong>Ashley Funkhouser\u00a0<\/strong>in 2017.
