A total of ten Class 6A marks were broken as the American Fork girls and the Lone Peak boys secured the overall team titles.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2019-utah-6a-state-championships\/high-school\/2019\/February\/9?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fhigh-school%3Fpage%3D1%26orderBy%3DResult.MeetStartDateTime%26sortDirection%3D1%26q%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> for full results.<\/p>\n<h1>Girls Meet<\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>American Fork \u2013 376<\/li>\n<li>Lone Peak \u2013 276.7<\/li>\n<li>Syracuse &#8211; 192<\/li>\n<li>Kearns 0 176<\/li>\n<li>Copper Hills &#8211; 151<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The meet began as Kearns\u2019 <strong>Holly Biesinger <\/strong>(29.61), <strong>Lily Plaudis <\/strong>(28.20), <strong>Sissy Baum <\/strong>(27.90) and <strong>Megan Cerva <\/strong>(26.53) won the 4&#215;50 medley relay in 1:52.24, a bit off their 6A record of 1:51.60.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after, Plaudis was back in the pool to claim and individual win in the 200 IM. The senior\u2019s time of 2:06.34 lowered her own 6A record of 2:06.66 she set last year. She won the race by 12 seconds. She also broke her own class mark of 1:03.68 in the 100 breast by going a 1:03.01 during finals.<\/p>\n<p>American Fork\u2019s <strong>Allie Hill <\/strong>posted an impressive performance in the 200 free: the sophomore\u2019s time of 1:57.09 was the only swimmer in the field under the two-minute marker, and set a new Class 6A record after besting the old one of 1:58.27 set by <strong>Keely Christenot <\/strong>last season.<\/p>\n<p>Hill later went on to post an 11-second victory in the 500 free. Her final time of 5:18.00 was slightly of her prelims swim of 5:17.04 which broke hew own Class 6A mark of 5:20.16 she set in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Davis freshman <strong>Lauryn Hall <\/strong>splashed-and-dashed her way to an individual win in the 50 free with a time of 24.91 as the only swimmer under the 25-second mark en route to breaking <strong>Abby Frazier<\/strong>\u2019s previous 6A record of 25.12. Frazier took second in 25.07, and Hall later won the 100 free in 55.34.<\/p>\n<p>Syracuse\u2019s <strong>Samantha Nelson<\/strong> flew to the top spot in the 100 fly, touching the wall in 59.36 and coming within hundredths of the 6A mark of 59.30. Her teammate, <strong>LynDea Turner<\/strong>, won the 100 back in 1:01.52.<\/p>\n<p>Yet another 6A record fell, this time in the 4&#215;50 free relay as American Fork\u2019s <strong>Annalyn Dean <\/strong>(26.10), <strong>Amelia Edwards <\/strong>(25.37), <strong>Talia Thomas <\/strong>(25.96) and Hill (25.28) combined to win in 1:42.71, destroying the old mark of 1:43.64. Dean (57.43), Edwards (57.48) and Hill (54.58) combined with <strong>Sara Edwards <\/strong>(55.45) to win the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:44.94.<\/p>\n<h1>Boys Meet<\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Lone Peak &#8211; 286<\/li>\n<li>American Fork &#8211; 172<\/li>\n<li>Westlake &#8211; 159<\/li>\n<li>Weber &#8211; 150<\/li>\n<li>Davis &#8211; 140<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Lone Peak\u2019s Tiffany (22.76), <strong>Josh Griener <\/strong>(28.33), <strong>Jonny Condie <\/strong>(23.86) and <strong>Kevin Dew <\/strong>(22.65) opened the boys\u2019 meet with a 4&#215;50 medley relay victory in 1:37.60, a second ahead of runner-up Westlake\u2019s 1:38.76.<\/p>\n<p>Not too long after leading off the winning medley relay, Tiffany destroyed the Utah state record in the 200 IM. The sophomore\u2019s time of 1:48.75 bettered the previous record of 1:51.74 set by <strong>Jake Taylor <\/strong>in 2009 and was also 10 seconds faster than his own 6A mark he set at this meet last year.<\/p>\n<p>Tiffany then went on to etch his name in the Utah state record-book again, this time in the 100 fly. His time of 47.74 surpassed Brighton\u2019s <strong>Long Gutierrez\u2019s <\/strong>previous 2013 record of 48.68 and also crushed his own class mark of 50.74.<\/p>\n<p>Pleasant Grove\u2019s <strong>Devin Bunnell <\/strong>dominated the 200 free, winning by six seconds in 1:40.40 and was just shy of his own 6A record of 1:40.20 he set last season. He also snuck under his old 6A mark of 4:39.75 in the 500 free, winning the event tonight by 17 seconds in 4:37.74.<\/p>\n<p>Davis\u2019 <strong>Tom Mi <\/strong>took the top spot in the 100 free, getting the gold in 48.41. Syracuse\u2019s <strong>Kanyon Page <\/strong>found himself with the gold medal in the 100 back with a time of 53.59 while Griener got his hands to the wall first in the 100 breast in 1:01.12.<\/p>\n<p>Westlake\u2019s <strong>Greg Simonsen <\/strong>blasted a time of 21.03 in the 50 free for a new 6A record of his own, bettering <strong>Brian Christofferson\u2019s<\/strong> old mark of 21.34. Simonsen\u2019s teammate, <strong>Cameron Barney<\/strong>, was second in 21.77.<\/p>\n<p>Westlake\u2019s <strong>Cameron Barney <\/strong>(21.94), <strong>Todd McMillan <\/strong>(23.34), <strong>Matthew Shawgo <\/strong>(22.71) and Simonsen (20.99) won the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:28.98.
