Wasatch girls (254) posted a narrow victory over Timpview (252) for their second team title in program history, while Brighton boys earned their 23rd championship crown with 310 points.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2019-utah-5a-state-championships\/high-school\/2019\/February\/9?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fhigh-school%3Fpage%3D1%26orderBy%3DResult.MeetStartDateTime%26sortDirection%3D1%26q%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> for full results.<\/p>\n<h1>Girls Meet<\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Wasatch \u2013 254<\/li>\n<li>Timpview \u2013 252<\/li>\n<li>Skyline \u2013 212<\/li>\n<li>Cottonwood \u2013 205<\/li>\n<li>Olympus \u2013 186<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The meet began as Timpview\u2019s <strong>Akalia Bostock <\/strong>(27.23), <strong>Kate Hansen <\/strong>(30.48), <strong>Rachel Oyler <\/strong>(24.62) and <strong>Katelyn Teng <\/strong>(24.61) won the 4&#215;50 medley relay in 1:46.94, just off the 5A and State record of 1:46.81.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after, Oyler splashed-and-dashed her way to an individual win in the 50 free with a time of 23.60 as the only swimmer under the 24-second mark. She also collected a gold medal in the 100 fly, flying to the top of the podium in 56.49.<\/p>\n<p>Bostock also added a personal victory of her own, winning the 100 free in 52.52 to hold off a charging <strong>Tali Skabelund <\/strong>of Sky Ridge who placed a close second in 52.94. Skabelund cruised to first in the 200 free, winning the event by just over a full second in 1:54.24.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/minnesota-gains-pair-of-verbals-from-rachel-butler-maggie-erwin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Future Golden Gopher<\/a> Butler set the pool on fire in the 200 IM, finishing three second ahead of the field in 2:03.41. That time eclipsed her own 5A and State record of 2:03.87 set last season. She then went on to post an eight-second victory in the 500 free, stopping the clock in 5:02.20.<\/p>\n<p>Bountiful\u2019s <strong>Elliot Howe <\/strong>led the charge in the 100 back, finishing by nearly two seconds ahead of the runner-up in 55.58. Cottonwood\u2019s <strong>Emma Walker <\/strong>got her hands to the wall first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.48.<\/p>\n<p>Wasatch\u2019s <strong>Claire Kieffer <\/strong>(24.09), <strong>Addison Lay <\/strong>(25.21), <strong>Madi Christensen <\/strong>(25.28) and <strong>Trevi Ogilvie <\/strong>(23.88) combined to take the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:38.46. Just as the meet began, Timpview concluded the girls\u2019 meet with a win in the 4&#215;100 free relay as Oyler (50.74), <strong>Sydney Phillips <\/strong>(58.97), <strong>Grace Crandall <\/strong>(53.25) and Bostock (52.47) won in 3:35.43.<\/p>\n<h1>Boys Meet<\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Brighton \u2013 310<\/li>\n<li>Cottonwood \u2013 292<\/li>\n<li>Skyline \u2013 239<\/li>\n<li>Olympus \u2013 173<\/li>\n<li>Timpview \u2013 151.5<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Cottonwood\u2019s <strong>Chase Dailey <\/strong>(25.15), <strong>Blayze Kimble <\/strong>(26.33), <strong>Martin Anders <\/strong>(23.42) and <strong>Aidan Salisbury <\/strong>(22.28) opened the boys\u2019 meet with a 4&#215;50 medley relay victory in 1:37.18, just ahead of runner-up Skyline\u2019s 1:37.39.<\/p>\n<p>Not too long after helping his team to medley relay gold, Kimble was back in the pool to collect an individual victory after stopping the clock in 1:53.20 in the 200 IM. He also got his hands to the wall first in the 100 breast in 57.78, just off the 5A mark of 57.54.<\/p>\n<p>Olympus\u2019 <strong>Alex Cromar <\/strong>sprinted his way to the 50 free gold medal, just out-touching silver medalist <strong>Kade Colarusso <\/strong>(21.59) of Skyline by two-hundredths. Cromar found himself on top of podium again in the 100 free, clocking in at 47.25.<\/p>\n<p>West freshman <strong>Yan Dvoretskiy <\/strong>dropped over two seconds from his prelims time to earn the State title in the 500 free, touching the wall in 4:46.36. Anders won the 100 fly in 51.96, besting the field by almost two seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Springville\u2019s <strong>Cameron Green <\/strong>led the 200 free from start to finish, placing first with a new personal best time of 1:43.37. He also secured a half-second 100 back victory, racing to first in 51.01.<\/p>\n<p>Green also lead off the winning 4&#215;50 free relay (1:27.92) in 20.79, followed by <strong>Alex Lanier <\/strong>(22.64), <strong>Austin Mertz <\/strong>(22.64) and <strong>Braxton Armstrong <\/strong>(22.12).
