Starting off with a controlled\u00a0first one hundred setting a 56.41 pace, Reamy takes her second title of the meet with a 4:54.25, dropping three seconds from her entry time. Second, third, fourth and fifth place were taken by Wingate&#8217;s women <strong>Louise Hallden<\/strong>, <strong>Kate Agger<\/strong>, <strong>Leticia Odorici<\/strong>, and <strong>Mathilde Cros<\/strong>. <strong>Carolin Albers<\/strong> of Catawba secured a sixth place finish in 5:01.40. Queen&#8217;s <strong>Bobbi Gichard<\/strong> and Wingate&#8217;s <strong>Kelley Jones<\/strong> rounded off the top eight.<\/p>\n<h1>Men&#8217;s 500 Free<\/h1>\n<p>In\u00a0the same\u00a0fashion as his Queens teammate, <strong>Luke Erwee<\/strong> clinched the top spot in\u00a0the distance event of the night with his dominant win in the 500 freestyle (4:25.49). The time is three and a half seconds faster than his entry time and two full seconds ahead of his competitors.<\/p>\n<p>Queen&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Mohamed Hegazy<\/strong>\u00a0and Wingate&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Max Sundberg <\/strong>had a closer battle as they swam stroke-for-stroke through the 400.\u00a0Hegazy\u00a0ended up pulling away in the final\u00a050 to take second in 4:27.33.\u00a0Queens\u00a0<strong>Hendrik Faber<\/strong> had a strong fourth place finish, and teammate <strong>Skyler Cook-Weeks<\/strong> picked up a fifth spot in 4:29.49.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ben Evans <\/strong>finished\u00a0sixth overall in 4:30.61. In the placing, he was followed by <strong>Matthew George <\/strong>(4:30.82) and <strong>Marcelo Figueiredo <\/strong>(4:34.46).<\/p>\n<h1>Women&#8217;s 200 IM<\/h1>\n<p><strong>Lexi Baker <\/strong>picked up her first individual win of the\u00a0meet after a relay win the night prior. Her time of 2:00.88 is\u00a0eight tenths faster than her\u00a0entry time this\u00a0year, and was enough to get the win over\u00a0her Queen&#8217;s teammate <strong>Josephina Lorda\u00a0<\/strong>(2:02.04).\u00a0Baker\u00a0led the race from the first fifty, and maintained the lead throughout the 200.<\/p>\n<p>Queen&#8217;s <strong>Georgia DaCruz <\/strong>locked the final podium spot for her university, dropping\u00a0a half a\u00a0second from her prelims swim to take third in 2:03.21, while Wingate&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maike Hoener<\/strong>\u00a0was fourth in 2:03.38.\u00a0Carson-Newman&#8217;s <strong>Meredith Ginn <\/strong>took fifth in 2:03.46 after dropping a half a second from prelims.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sara Arungsmann <\/strong>(2:04.11), <strong>Anne-Sofie Nissen <\/strong>(2:04.76) and\u00a0<strong>Abby Kosic<\/strong>\u00a0(2:06.46) rounded out the heat.<\/p>\n<h1>Men&#8217;s 200 IM<\/h1>\n<p>Likewise, Queen&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marius\u00a0Kusch\u00a0<\/strong>took the title in the 200 IM. He had an explosive race, dropping three and a half seconds from his prelims swim. His time of 1:44.699 gave him the dominant victory over his teammate <strong>Jan Delkeskamp<\/strong>. Delkeskamp\u00a0posted a quick 1:47.87 for second and was followed by <strong>Caleb Howell <\/strong>(1:48.54) and <strong>Baptist Leger <\/strong>(1:49.41).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alen Mosic <\/strong>(1:49.57), <strong>Markus Furst <\/strong>(1:49.96), <strong>Zoltan Monori <\/strong>(1:51.28) and <strong>Jon Lancaster <\/strong>(1:51.30) took fifth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h1>Women&#8217;s 50 Free<\/h1>\n<p>Queen&#8217;s <strong>Polina Lapshina<\/strong> picked up\u00a0a meet record in the prelims and a\u00a050 free\u00a0title in the night&#8217;s finals. She posted an explosive 22.71, just one\u00a0hundredth\u00a0off her morning swim. Her teammates\u00a0<strong>Kyrie Dobson<\/strong>,<strong> Shelly Prayson<\/strong>, <strong>Courtney Stewart<\/strong>,and<strong> Frouke Beeksma<\/strong>\u00a0were\u00a0also in the mix through the first 25, finishing second through fifth respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Carson-Newman&#8217;s women <strong>Lisa Postma <\/strong>(23.56), <strong>Elly Culp <\/strong>(23.60), and <strong>Mary Northcutt <\/strong>(23.95) locked the remaining three top eight positions.<\/p>\n<h1>Men&#8217;s 50 Free<\/h1>\n<p>Queen&#8217;s <strong>Dima Sydorchenko<\/strong> won the 50 free title handily in an otherwise dead heat. Sydorchenko powered to the wall in 19.99, the only competitor to come in sub 20. His Queen&#8217;s teammates, <strong>Brody\u00a0Heck<\/strong> (20.17), <strong>Vince Regent<\/strong> (20.48), and <strong>Ruben Stam<\/strong> (20.55)\u00a0took second, third, and fourth. Carson-Newman&#8217;s <strong>Jonny Goss<\/strong> (20.59)\u00a0edged out <strong>Lukas Kraft<\/strong> (20.59) and <strong>Mitch Harwood <\/strong>(20.59)\u00a0for fifth place. Kraft and Harwood&#8217;s sixth place finish served as the first tie of the meet. Tyler Bowersox&#8217;s 20.86 concluded the 8th place spot.<\/p>\n<h1>Women&#8217;s 400 Medley Relay<\/h1>\n<p>Queens\u00a0University women\u00a0once again stole the show, clocking in with n NCAA Division II record 3:37.38,\u00a0to secure their fourth event\u00a0win\u00a0and end the night. <strong>Vladyslava Maznytska<\/strong>,<strong> Shelly Prayson, Georgia DaCruz and Polina Lapshina<\/strong> led the way for the rest of the field, decimating the previous NCAA record of 3:37.80 by Wingate from 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Queens splits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maznytska, 54.62<\/li>\n<li>Prayson, 1:00.79<\/li>\n<li>DaCruz, 53.57<\/li>\n<li>Lapshina, 48.40<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Previous record splits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Viktoriya Arkhipova<\/strong>, 54.12<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jessika Weiss<\/strong>, 1:01.48<\/li>\n<li><strong>Armony Dumur<\/strong>, 52.57<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sofia Petrenko<\/strong>, 49.63<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For reference, Queens currently sits 34th in all of college swimming as they are just behind Akron and ahead of Arkansas.<\/p>\n<p>Following Queens, Wingate\u2019s women <strong>Anna Miram<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Sara Arignsmann,\u00a0Maike Hoener<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Abby Kosic<\/strong> earned a second place finish in 3:45.18.<\/p>\n<p>Carson-Newman\u2019s <strong>Ruth Hullette<\/strong>, <strong>Meredith Ginn<\/strong>, <strong>Elly Culp<\/strong>, and <strong>Lisa Postma<\/strong> finished off the top three finishes with a 3:49.79. All three teams on the podium finished well under their entry times.<\/p>\n<h1>Men&#8217;s 400 Medley Relay<\/h1>\n<p>Queen\u2019s men cemented another\u00a0sweep for the university on the second\u00a0night. Touching with a 3:10.22, <strong>Marius Kusch, Jan Delkeskamp<\/strong>, <strong>Alex Kunert<\/strong>, and <strong>Alen Mosic<\/strong> took the top spot.The men dropped\u00a0eight and a half seconds from their entry time.\u00a0Wingate\u2019s men, including <strong>Markus<\/strong> <strong>Furst<\/strong>, <strong>Giacomo Viazzo<\/strong>, <strong>Niklas Martin<\/strong>, and<strong> Lukas Kraft<\/strong> followed Queens with a 3:13.69. Carson-Newman\u2019s <strong>Andrei Ungur<\/strong>, <strong>Andrei Roman<\/strong>, <strong>Ivo Kunzle<\/strong>, and <strong>Chad Andoljsek\u00a0<\/strong>secured a third place finish for their school.<\/p>\n<p>Queens Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s programs lead in team score at the end of the\u00a0second\u00a0night.
