After conquering her fear and joining a swim team, a\u00a0young Kozan lost her goggles while swimming at her first meet\u2014in four out of her five races! Thankfully for the swimming community, the 14-year-old from Brea Aquatics in Southern California has now found a passion for the sport of swimming.<\/p>\n<p>Kozan began turning heads in the sport when she downed a 40-year-old Southern California Swimming record in the summer of 2016. At 12 years of age, she broke the first of Olympian and world record holder Sippy Woodhead\u2019s age group records from the 1970s, beginning with the 11-12 200 meter free.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Kozan\u2019s coach at Brea, Jim Johnson, says that \u201cJustina is one of the fiercest competitors I have ever coached.
