He capped off his long course season with 100% lifetime bests at NCSAs after earning bronze in the 1500m free this past summer. Also competing for Patriot High School, Tansill finished sixth in the 500 free as a junior after placing 11th in that event during his sophomore season at the Virginia 6A State Championships.<\/p>\n<p>He told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"aLF-aPX-K0-aPE\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>&#8220;I chose Tennessee because it is exactly what I am looking for both academically and athletically. The team couldn\u2019t be more awesome, and I can\u2019t wait to be a part of it! Go Vols!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>His best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>500 free &#8211; 4:33.39<\/li>\n<li>1000 free &#8211; 9:29.68<\/li>\n<li>1650 free &#8211; 15:47.08<\/li>\n<li>400 IM &#8211; 4:06.65<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Although he&#8217;s not quite in scoring range just yet at the SEC Championships, Tansill has made significant improvements over the past two seasons: he has taken 11 seconds off his 500 free, 27 seconds off his 1000 free, and 31 seconds off his mile.
